OT: Question regarding Nets Tickets

Post#1 » by RaptorKenny » Mon Dec 15, 2008 7:04 pm

Hi Nets Fans,

First off, thanks for the help.
I will be in New Jersey for a trip between 20th and 23rd,
and I am planning to go to either the Heats/Rockets Game.
I was just wondering what would be the best way to obtain good & cheap tickets?
Should I buy it on ticketmaster.com, or just go directly to the box office on the same day to purchase the tickets, or is there any other way?
Also, which section do you guys recommend getting tickets at (upper level, etc)?

Again, appreciate all your help!

Thanks guys.
So Can I love to the lower level seats with upper level tickets?
Plus, what method do you guys recommend me getting the tickets, ticketmaster.com or should I go to the box office to get it on the same day, since I dont know what game I would go to (Any risk of rockets game getting sold out?).

I haven't heard of a game getting sold out in a while. Rockets game will probably sell well just because of Yi and Yao, but I don't think it should be a problem.

No way in hell either of those games sell out.

This year, we will literally be lucky to get 4-8 true sellouts.

Probably the Lakers, Celtics, Cavs and maybe the Hornets, maybe.

This team has a fanbase that was about 30% old school die hards, 30% new and younger fans from the Kidd era, 30% fair weather fans from the Kidd era that have gradually left and 10% Knix fans turned Nets fans when their team was uber August hot dumpster shot, which have since left as well.

A lot of the die hards have even given up on them even when we were still good because of the sale of the team and the at the time most likely move to Brooklyn, because they felt fouled and abandoned.

What you're left with is a miss mosh of old fans, young ones that are forming a fanbase, corporate seat packages that are given to random employees and clients of said companies as gifts, incentives and schoomzing, people looking for the occasional cheap and local entertainment and finally you have fans of other teams living in the area or visiting coming to see the team the Nets are playing.

It's really rather sickening, but as a long time fan that went to an average of 10 games a year even in the Mookie and Benoit Benjamin days and even the dreaded Schitzbury era, it has come to be somewhat expected.
Us long term fans and the new ones, young and old, got a little spoiled through the Kidd years, when we had numerous sellouts, but still enough games that had very good attendance, but still enough empty seats to sneak down to better ones.

Anyway, get cheap seats at the box office and move down as far as possible.
If you're slick you can wind up in the lower level, it's not like they'll throw you out if they catch you, they'll just make you move.

Good luck.
