A team missing Dwight Howard and we settle for jumpers???

here's how the 3rd quarter started out:

Mehmet Okur misses 20-foot jumper
Deron Williams misses 19-foot jumper
C.J. Miles misses 24-foot three point jumper
Deron Williams misses 24-foot three point jumper
Morris Almond misses 25-foot three point jumper
Paul Millsap traveling
Paul Millsap bad pass
Mehmet Okur misses 25-foot three point jumper

deron is running the offense so he's gotta take a lot of the blame.
as does memo, millsap, and others

a 10 point lead turned into a 12 point deficit

to quote the joker - "what happened, did your balls drop off?"

I really thought we had a great team, but losing vs Magic without Howard is unaceptable.

You do know that people on the General Forum think that Jerry Sloan is the coach of the year? We don't have a bad coach my friend. Should we go out and sign Mo Cheeks?

Mo Cheeks has something Jerry doesn't........ A championship....... Even if it was as a player........

And most people who think Sloan is so great haven't watched him Coach more than 5 games.......

You mean, like every coach and player in the NBA over the last twenty years?

No, I think like fans on this board....... I'm pretty sure every Coach in the Western Conference is very happy the Jazz are keeping Sloan, guarantees the Jazz won't be a threat in the playoffs, since Jerry is guaranteed to do something stupid........ You know like play Derek Fisher as the starting 2-guard, or play Keith McBrick ahead of Deron Williams (whatever happened to McBrick anyways?)....... Not double team players who are gong off for 50 against the Jazz, play zone at all the wrong times...... The list just goes on and on.......

3rd seed in the western conference is 0.5 games away, dont you think "no home court" prediction is a bit pessimistic? I think Jazz has the chance to hit 2nd seed in WC as much as any other team among (denver, san antonio, new orleans, dallas, houston, portland, phoenix)
i can happily bet jazz will finish either 2nd or 3rd seed

Didn't we overachieve in the playoffs with Fisher starting at the 2? Didn't he save us in an overtime game?

Yes I believe D-Fish did. Another home loss, they hurt more for some reason!

Besides that one magic moment that made everyone forget just how horrible and inconsistent Fisher was....this is what he was doing in the playoffs prior...and for most of the season:

Even so, I would rather have had him on our team last year than on the Lakers, since he basically killed us from the 3.

You got it right IMHO. Williams game (or lack of...) has been the main factor this season.
You can put some of the blame on his injury, but reality is he's not playing 50% the guy he was last season.... and that's just killing us.... and it will continue to kill us no matter if Boozer's or any other guy is paying or not. We won't make postseason with this version of Williams.

Did anyone actually look at Fisher's numbers in the playoffs, and especially against the Spurs? They were horrible....... So much for his veteran experience......

And I agree entirely with people who want to hold Deron accountable for our struggles as well...... He has not been playing all that well this year, even if you in factor all the injuries....... Making terrible decisions at very important moments, taking awful shots, he really needs to get his game together.......

And I'll give Jerry credit for something, he hasn't been playing Price, which has helped somewhat.......

I'd like to take away the credit Red just gave Sloan because of the Korver-Harpring duo. It's ok to give them playing time, just not at the same time.

Actually, if you want to give credit for this loss, I think more of it rests on Okur. He had an atrocious night shooting, and only grabbed 6 rebounds when we needed them more than ever. Even AK had the same amount of rebounds! I was extremely dissapointed that Okur didn't take advantage of the Magic missing Howard and have a huge game. 2-12!? 0-3 from 3!? No assists and no defense. That is a sad stat line. DWill was 1 shot under .500, still had 11 assists, only had 2 less rebounds than Okur, and made 2-4 from 3. The only bad stat DWill had was 5 TOs, which is very bad, but I still think Okur was the one that let this one get away.
