Replace Brown with Jennings, and throw in Martin ;)

In an earlier post someone put that they love the lineup Natt had on the floor and that it should be or could be our lineup for years to come...I like it too, but did everyone already forget about K$?

I knew this would come up. The answer is no, I didn't forget about him. I just still think he's 100% expendable. Yes he is a great shooter. But I would rather have Garcia's vocal leadership and tenacious defense at the 2. I also think Greene has much more athleticism and ability to create on his own, which IMO makes him a better prospect long-term than Martin. I would easily move Martin for a stud PG (I like Brown, but I would also like him as a backup PG).
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Or trade Martin for a proven PG.

Umm, people are forgetting the impact of Martin to this team. Let Martin get his legs and some rust off when he returns. He is still one of the best young players in the NBA.

Theus had nothing to do with our losing. He was the coach but he had 3 former all stars leave last year and get replaced by rookies. Even when Webber, Vlade, and Bibby got together (none of whom were rooks) the Kings were not great their first year. Once they got comfortable playing together they crushed everyone. Even Flip Saunders a future HOF coach had his worse year way below .500 with KG as a rook. Theus was most intersested in shooting first like his assistants Shareef and Chuck Person but they could have been replaced or another coach added to help with defense bigs and passing to the bigs. I think Theus was on his way to being a solid coach, and by the time he would be really good so would the Kings players. I think we should give Bobby Brown a chance to be the starting PG, he was the type of PG we are looking at in the draft in college (20/5 Bibbyish) and played in the Euroleague last year. I like Beno but I am not really convinced he can be more Jason Williams-ish (15/8) than Bibby-ish (20/7) and I think we need to give the guy a shot. JWill was great with guys who could win for him like Wade and Shaq, but not as good with Webber who could not win without Bibby. I think we should at least give him the shot to see what happens. The game tonight will be a little more accurate reading to how much of a difference a new coach will make. Probably not much. I agree Martin would be a good one to trade instead of Salmons who is a better all around player and maybe he will be traded for a PG. But before we trade any of them we should give Bobby Brown a shot at starting to see what happens.

I don't think the issue with Theus was whether or not he's a good coach. The issue I see is he installed a bunch of schemes that his players didn't get. They looked lost, confused, and started turning in uninspiring performances. The Maloofs didn't have the patience to see it through, OR didn't feel like it would ever get through to the players.

One thing that is kind of evident is that the locker room was turning for the worse. Compile that with blowout losses, sliding attendance, and rotations that just weren't set and you have a coach that is out there. I don't like the way the Maloofs have handled coaching changes in the past, and I've kind of stayed neutral on this, but I think Reggie had to go. He didn't have the support of management and the players started tuning him out. I don't know if they both go hand and hand, but that's what I see.

Better yet, a proven commodity at the PF position. PG is 'NICE' but It' the dominant 4 or 5 that wins you titles.

But I do agree that Martin is expendable, but for the RIGHT player.

Good post ICMTM...

the Maloofs and Geoff Petrie need to work hard to get on the same page

That is also evident!

One thing on your sig I'd do is put the main picture on top of the BG...unless you are going for a broken glass type look...then I'd just take all the other stuff out and do some other things with it.

Back to the evidence...I don't think the Maloofs and Petrie are ever on the same page, but I have a feeling Petrie was actually the one who canned Reggie. I'm sure the wheels turned on the announcement of Theus installing the triangle. Seriously though the fact that Eddie Jordan was rumored to come back in the offseason is a sign to me anyway that the Kings are committed to being a Princeton style team. That is all Petrie IMO.
