Would you guys even be interested in this?

Trade ID#: 4868939

Nets Outgoing:

Sean Williams
Stromile Swift
Maurice Ager

Nets Incoming:

Linas Kleiza
Chucky Atkins
Lottery protected 1st

Denver Outgoing:

Linas Kleiza
Chucky Atkins
Lottery protected 1st

Denver Incoming:

Sean Williams
Stromile Swift
Maurice Ager

Denver gets a big man with upside which they don't have plus 7 million this year.

Nets get a back up PG that can his the open jumper and Klieza who has some decent upside. We save money right off the bat with this deal and Atkin's contract doesn't hinder any 2010 cap space.

Would you guys even be interested? I'm not "in love with the day" but after reading on the front page and espn today saying Kleiza rumors are heating up and that Denver is looking for some big men, I thought we'd match up well in a trade IF Thorn and Kiki wanted Kleiza.

Just curious on your opinions.

^ ROFL!

Nuggets will never accept that trade. Getting three scrubs for Kleinza...and a First Round Pick??
Kleiza is a very good player in this league, and no way will the Nuggets trade him for scrap..

actually it's a very fair trade. I worked up something similar. Denver gets the expirings in Swift and Ager, but Swift can be a good body, something Denver needs. Swat has potential, in the right system, not sure if Denver is "it" either though...

From a NJ standpoint, I'm not sure about Kleiza, he'd cut into Simmons (good) and Hayes' minutes (bad) ... he's a nice young player, but I think it's coming to the point where the Najera signing was a mistake, the guy is aging and can't stay/get healthy.

I like Kleiza, but obviously don't think his potential is as great as some people (see: HypNotiQ) have. I really can't trash the kid though because I still think I overvalue Sean. However, I do think it's a decent trade. Hell I don't even need the pick coming to the Nets. Denver gets 7 million in expiring and Swat who is in a need position with (arguably) just as much potential as Kleiza. I don't think Kleiza can start at the 4 and as long as Melo is there, he's gonna be a 6 man (not that that is a bad thing). I was just guaging interest. I didn't think it was the greatest deal but I figured "Denver gets 2 athletic front court players and cap relief. Nets get a back up pg we need and a young player in a need position."

Haha hence why I NEVER post trades on other boards. I think this is mildy fair. the front page says that the Nuggets are interested in Sean. I can't see us taking anyone not named Kleiza or JR Smith as the focal point. I would love to add Atkins as a backup PG though. I've seen worse trades for Kleiza though.

But like we do with Sean and sometimes Josh, we overrate their values just like Denver fans do with Kleiza.

I'm sorry, but it's a dreadful trade for Denver. Sham has Atkins' contract for next year as non-guaranteed. Combine that with the restricted free agent status of Kleiza, you are saving them ZERO money. To break it down....

Swift = Atkins (expirings that fit a need elsewhere)
Williams = pick (at this pace, the pick is going to be more valuable)
Ager <<<<<<< Kleiza

Swill and Hassel for Kleiza and Atkins. We would probably have to add a second round pick.
