Douby to Knicks rumor

Post#1 » by tomgugliottamvp » Sun Dec 14, 2008 12:03 pm

I've been reading some rumors about Douby getting shipped to the Knicks for a small trade exemption acquired in the Balkman trade. I don't know if any Sacramento media has talked about this but a number of different NY papers have discussed this in the past week or at least gave it a passing mention. What do you guys think? it's obviously a minor move. Would you make it?

I would rather get something more than just a TE back, but the Knicks don't have any picks available next year to trade. I wouldn't complain, though, if this went down. Douby has been pretty much useless to us and would likely do well in D'Antoni's system.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Douby would be a stud under D'Antoni...maybe we can fill him in with a KT/Malik swap?

Thats a good idea, but I think we'd have to throw in Houston's 1st next yr.

Douby,KT and HOU 1st for Malik Rose. Really 2 seperate trades - Douby for their TE and KT+1st for Rose.

Douby would be a great fit in the Knicks offense. Defensively the Knicks like to press the ball hard and with Douby's length he could cause a lot of problems for other guards. KT can fill Rose's role as an undersized, hustle big man and still fits in their 2010 plans, and the Knicks get an additional prospect in the next draft or can use the pick in another trade.

I'd just like to get a 2nd rounder out of it, perhaps. Doesn't have to be next years.

WTF? Dumping Kenny isn't worth a 1st, let along a 1st AND douby. Sorry. Maybe a 2nd rounder TOPS. They'd need to incentivize moving Douby, because standing pat is a pretty good option. So the deal needs to be > standing pat. KT's not much trouble, so moving him is nice, but not necessary.

I agree with Smills, standing pat with Douby and KT and keeping Houston's 1st is the better choice.

I would roll Douby out for 5 minutes in the 2nd and 4th quarters and let him shoot his way out of the yips :o

KT is an expensive bench player, but someone has to sit there

That Houston pick might turn into a quality player no need to give it away.

Consider this: KT & Douby to Bulls for Thabo & Nocioni.

Exact salary match. Thabo is on rookie deal & Nocioni is on declining contract.

Nope. We won't be hurting our '10 cap space unless the deal is really worth it. Thabo is not--especially on this team.
