A little more than a year after parting ways, the Magic and Grant Hill would be interested in getting back together.
Neither Hill nor the Magic can say so publicly --- there's that thing called tampering --- but my sources are impeccable on this end.
Hill, who has one home in Orlando and is renovating another, would embrace a reunion despite feeling the Magic didn't try to keep him after his star-crossed seven-year career ended in 2007. He signed a two-year contract with the Phoenix Suns.
The Magic could trade, say, J.J. Redick for Hill in a transaction that might make sense for both sides.
At 36, Hill doesn't know if he fits into the Suns' plans after the season and can be a free agent after the season. The Suns just acquired shooting guard Jason Richardson and more moves could be on the way under General Manager Steve Kerr.
It doesn't appear that even with aging Shaquille O'Neal that the Suns can make a serious run to come out of the West against the Lakers.
Hill would give the Magic's bench a savvy veteran who can still score and play defense in bursts at playoff time, although Hill favors starting to keep his old bones warm.
The salaries of Hill and Redick -- Dukies from different generations --- almost match at around $2 million.
Redick wouldn't mind a ticket out, either. He'll go back to being the fourth-team shooting guard after Mickael Pietrus returns in a week or so.
While Redick's shot has deserted him, his dead-eye potential could interest Kerr, who won titles on the strentgh of his jumper. If the Suns are missing a piece, it's a pure shooter and maybe Redick could flourish in an uptempo offense, especially playing off of Shaq.

Hill didn't come to the SUNS, and SUNS did not agree to have him to only use him in any trade. 110% positive Hill will never be traded.

Re: Grant Hill might want to return the Magic?
I hate articles like this.
The writer says "just trust me, I just know." Yeah right. My guess is Hill might have said something about being open to going back to the Magic someday just because he hopes to own them one day and he still has a house out there. It's true that Hill is obviously not in the long term plans of the Suns, but he seems quite happy here still.
He hasn't complained like the others. He's a starter on a good team.
PLUS the Suns have just as much chance at the finals as the Magic in my opinion. I can't see the Magic getting by the Cavs or Celtics, no way. Even a team like the Hawks has a good chance to beat the Magic. They're pretty much in the same situation in terms of advancing as the Suns. There are 2-3 teams that most would consider too much for the Suns and Magic in their respective conferences. Then there's no guarantee that they even get out of the 2nd round.
Suns = starting role, outside shot at the title, good team regardless, best friends with Shaq
Magic = limited bench role, outside shot at the title (lower in my opinion), good team regardless, likes Orlando.
Hill is a classy veteran and I can almost guarantee you he is happy in Phoenix.

G. Hill is very happy here. Article is quite misleading.
Suns fan during the KJ era (Coliseum), through the Barkley era (Am West Arena), and now the Nash era (US Airways Arena)!

I stopped reading the article when it mentioned Redick for Hill. Hill has an amazing contract and he's happy in Phoenix. What a laughable topic.

^^^Kerr did trade Marion for Shaq.
But having said that, I don't think I see Grant going back to Orlando as a player. I also highly doubt he will play on after this season regardless of where he plays be it in Phoenix or elsewhere.
Plus the fans hate him after he left and didn't resign for peanuts like he did here.

Um I actually was thinking about this. I really like him resigning here for another season next year and still starting and having Dudley come of the bench next year. He isn't going to be traded, that's for sure, not for JJ Reddick at that.

JJ is trash. Outside of a nice jumper, he's got nothing else.
