Iowa State coach Gene Chizik has been hired as the next football coach at Auburn, Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard said in statement.

"Gene [Chizik] confirmed for me today that he is accepting the head coaching position at Auburn, Pollard said "I'm disappointed for our Iowa State fans and student-athletes that he has chosen to leave our program after only two seasons.

What a bad move by the Tigers. The guy was bad at Iowa St. and he hasnt proven anything in 2 seasons there also.

It may have been more of a bad move by Chizik when he took the ISU job.

That job was hopeless from the get go, where Chizik had no ties to the area and recruiting anyone was going to be next to impossible given the competition.

Chizik, a former DC at UCF, Auburn, and Texas has significant ties to the fertile southeast base.

He's a great prep guy and his units are always fundamentally based. His chances are Auburn are at least opportune for him.

Curious move by Auburn, but time will tell.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

Exceptional post! I wish all the ignorant talking heads on ESPN and Rivals Radio would read that and process it instead of blindly following Barkley in playing the race card and giving Chizik nothing but grief.
