Last year they didn't have Zherdev, Naslund, Redden etc.

True, but they are able to have zherdev and naslund because they got rid of Jagr's 8 million or so :P

Jagr is far from overrated. Every in his career. I would love for him to be on the Pens because he can still take over a game. He is the best player in the trap years.

I am not saying he was not a great player, he was. But just the fact that I mention his name, and 3 people come in to defend him like he is a hockey king makes my point that he can be a tad overrated.

The Rangers had a great start but are back to leveling off. They have a suspect defense this year as well and that will hurt them again in the playoffs. Jagr had nothing to do with it last year.

Agree to disagree. Put Rick Nash or Jarome Iginla on the rangers, or like the poster above said, a combo of naslund and zherdev, and things might have been different last season.

The Rangers offense is no better than what it was from last season. There are 2 reasons why they are where they are, and it has nothing to do with offense. Lundqvist and shootouts.

Naslund is tailing off after a good start. Zherdev has a ton of talent but is inconsistent. The Rangers are just as good as they were last year.

The biggest problem right now with the Rangers is scoring. Yes they have been winning, but often it's in the shootout. The problem with that is that it puts unnecessary pressure on Hank (although he has been incredible as of late), which will eventually wear him down. This is the result of two issues. The first being that right now, our Defensemen have been playing like **** the entire season. One guy I want to single out is Michael Roszival; that guy has been horrible in every single respect. The second thing is that we don't shoot the puck! We need to pick up the offensive production.

That being said I think the most overrated players are: Sedin twins, Wade Redden (though I still like him), Mike Modano (though does anyone care anymore?), Patrik Elias, and Rick DiPietro.

Mike Modano, really? 1300 career points. One of the best US born players to ever play the game.

Right now I would have to throw another name in the mix it's Peter Forsberg. The guy wants to come back for playoff time. I mean wow I don't get these guys, they sit at home and hand pick their team. All the greats didn't do that. Did Yzerman? Lemieux, Orr, Gretzky or Howe? No they stuck it out with their teams and were rewared for their hardwork and leadership.

Forsberg in the 1996-2003 era was a beast and among the best players in the league but now I lost all respect for him, also doesn't the NHL state that you have to play a certin number of games before your playoff eligible? I know Avery name wasn't on the cup with the Wings in 2001-2002 season because he didn't play in the playoff's nor did he play 40 games to have his name on the cup. I am glad he wasn't on it. Would be a blackhole to my team whats also funny is he missed it by 4 games. Great move Kenny Holland great move!!

How does any of that make Peter Forsberg overrated?

wants to be paid like a all-star and thinks his value is sky high. I mean I don't really think he's a guy that can take you over the top

Those suggesting Jagr is overrated: you have my vote. The guy was a total puss in Washington. One of the biggest dissapointments in all sports. He showed up when he wanted to and was as selfish as they got.

For all the fanboys he has, he definitely deserves the title of overrated. He's been gone for years and he's still one of the most hated figures in Washington.

If he wasn't made of glass he could still be a guy that can put a team over the hump.
