The Philadelphia 76ers, 2-0 under new head coach Tony DiLeo (11-14 overall), come to Washington tonight to face the Washington Wizards (4-19) led by interim head coach Eddie Tapscott.

The Wizards and 76ers are both facing fresh injury issues (Sixers PF Elton Brand out for a month with a separated shoulder, Wizards All-Star Antawn Jamison possibly out with a strained thumb) as well as the Wizards' season-long woes with Gilbert Arenas and Brendan Haywood still out.

Key for the Wizards:

SF Caron Butler.

After a lethargic 5pt showing on 1-4 shooting against the Pistons, Caron Butler will need to carry a much heavier scoring load tonight with fellow All-Star Antawn Jamison either out or at best limited. He will also be carrying a heavier defensive load tonight, with the Sixers likely to go small in Brand's absence (expect heavy doses of Louis Williams and Thaddeus Young.)

The Wiz have lost approx 25% of their games.

Gilbert and Haywood see ya next year

Play Butler and Jamison no more than 30 minutes per game for the remainder of the year
and begin throwing the kiddies to the fire.

Trade Songolia for youth/expiring/draft pk of some combination if possible

Play the poop out of the kiddies tonight and every night until next year

I keep amazing myself. After each of these lunatic games, I find myself saying that was the last straw.

But, you are right. Two minutes of McGee tonight and it might just be see ya at the draft (when Wes Unseld Jr. -- new gm and head coach -- makes our choice or trades it for Antoine Walker).

By the way, did you see Ed Tankscott's quote today about why he isn't playing McGee more? He says that other teams have figured him out... yeah, and they haven't figure out Songalia?

The sad thing is either will send an injured Jamison out there or we'll start Songalia, and even with Jamison out McGee still wont play, Etan probably will play more. DAMN YOU TAPS!

Apparently other teams haven't figured out Songaila b/c he keeps getting open jumpers and making them, when he's not moving the ball well or moving well w/o the ball. I would love to see the young guys get burn too, but you can't go all young and have success (name the last all 25 and under championship team) and Songaila is less than the MLE and playing well...why all of the hate? He's a back up power forward that through no fault of his is often asked to play center.

I do hope Dixon gets burn, so far he's playing better than James, I hope Crittendon finally shows something tonight.

Amen to that! Definately not going to happen though... Jamison will still either get 30+ mins while playing with one hand or Songaila will get his mins.
