Well hindsight is a b*itch isn't it?

Mavs should have traded the cancer that is JHo and his step-back jumpers instead of rising allstar Devin.

This obviously can't win even against the mediocre teams without Dirk and Terry playing their hearts out, just to sneak into the playoffs.

What's the point of that?????????

yeah that would have been better
but now it's done and we have to deal with what we have.

congrats to devin, outstanding game
anytime the opponent team shoots 54% from 3point range you're probably going to lose.

Why I didn't want to read the media headlines this morning if New Jersey won.

This is just a several of the headlines.

Nets get best of trade with Dallas Mavericks so far :: Dallas Morning News

Devin Harris outplays Jason Kidd, Dallas Mavericks :: Fort Worth Star-Telegram

Devin Harris scores 41, outplays Jason Kidd as Nets romp :: New York Daily News

I think if the Mavs had traded anyone other than Devin, it would've been JET rather than Josh. As I see it, JET's the biggest reason the trade happened in the first place. Management, IMO, realized that both JET and Devin should be starters but that they couldn't play them together without creating a terrible defensive disadvantage (neither player can guard SGs effectively, rebounding suffers, etc.). So one had to go, and they sure as hell weren't getting as much for JET as they could for Devin. That, of course, is largely due to Terry's contract and age. As a result, we find ourselves with JET in Dallas and Devin in New Jersey. Of course, things were a little more complicated than that (management apparently favored JET over Devin, etc.), but you get my point.

Now I'm not blaming JET. Rather, I'm blaming the FO for trying to keep both players long-term instead of retaining only one PG and pairing him with a complementary SG. I also don't think Josh Howard is particularly complementary to either JET or Harris, since I believe both those guys need another ballhandler next to them (e.g., Devin and VC). And that ain't Josh.
