Sixers fan here. Having watched the game last night, I think Young would be incredible alongside Lou Williams in our backcourt. Any pieces you guys would want (within reason) for this kid? I wonder if Dalembert or Miller would do the trick? Also, can Young play PG or is he strictly a SG/SF?

Re: Nick Young Availability?
everybody values Nick Young a lot in DC right now. Probably more than we should. He won't be traded unless Iguodala, Young, or Brand are involved as far as I'm concerned. And we know you wouldn't want to do a trade like that. Adding a veteran like miller or dalembert (especially with their contracts) is the last thing a 4-20 team needs.

It's highly unlikely that the team is interested in trading him. Maybe they would include him as part of a big package deal, but not in a smaller one-for-one type of trade. He's young, cheap, has shown some solid potential, and plays our weakest position - no reason to usher him out the door.

I don't really see Miller or Dalembert as poor value, but they don't play positions of need for us(once healthy) so I don't see a good fit.

I think Lou Williams would be the one somewhat similiar guy of interest - which defeats the OP's idea. Young is tradeable, but not for crap - IMO it would take another 2nd or 3rd year player on their cheap rookie contract that EG prefers over Young - like a more pure combo guard that could play with Arenas and/or Crittenden - actually someone like Crittenden is what I would be thinking of or a big swing player that could get minutes at the 2/3. Wiz don't need anymore front court prospects. I also agree that the more likely chance of trading Young would be in a multiplayer deal as a 1 for 1 deal seems pretty remote. If the Wiz could add a poopy contract with Young, maybe a deal for Hinrich? Just thinking out loud...

Re: Nick Young Availability?
I don't see us trading Thaddeus. I know we have Iguodala, who plays the same position, but Thaddeus appears to have major upside. I would think Iguodala would be traded before Thaddeus - and even that would be risky because of how well Iguodala plays when Brand is out of the lineup. I would think our available players would be the following:
Dalembert (a decent 5 but you already have Blatche and Haywood (eventually). Sam still has potential and big men who average double-doubles as he did last season are hard to find.
Miller: would be a great fit on your squad with Arenas sidelined. Miller would get the most out of Butler, Jamison, etc. He does a great job of getting everyone involved and controlling the tempo of the game.
Brand: totally injured at this point so who knows what his ceiling will be once healthy. Would be a gamble for both teams involved because of this factor.
I think the untouchables at this point are: Speights, Young, and Lou - these are the players I think our management wants to develop long term.

Nick young is the best kept secret in the NBA. Our coach is trying to keep a lid on his star power by benching him just as soon as he hits the floor. W2G Tap...... Fire Tap.....
