Official Brad Miller Trade Speculation Thread
I believe the writing is on the wall BRAD MILLER will be traded by the trade deadline he is a solid veteran center who can also play the power forward position he would bring toughness to any team and he is making over 11 million this season and over 12 million next season .
We the KINGS have next to no chance at making the playoffs who do you see landing him and for what ?
This thread is only meant for us the KINGS fans & not meant for other fans from other boards
if you want to post to this thread please just be realistic
The majority of us know we are very likely only needing the following : DRAFT PICKS,EXPIRINGS & YOUNG TALENT !
I will go 1st
BRAD MILLER,Q.DOUBY & a 2nd round pick to CHICAGO for DREW GOODEN , J.NOAH & a 1st round pick
how about your thoughts ?

Re: Official Brad Miller Trade Speculation Thread
I changed the title because I felt it was rather misleading, and I think that with all the talk, it might be nice to have a thread dedicated to this.

Yeah, for a second there I thought Miller was traded. But yeah, it is obvious that Petrie is testing the waters for Miller. I'm not sure what packages we will get but hopefully Petrie will get something that is beneficiary for the team.

Re: Official Brad Miller Trade Speculation Thread
I would rather see us move Beno's contract along with Miller opposed to finding the best youth package. Reason being, realistically, whatever prospect we get from trading Miller won't be all that spectacular, however, getting out of a HUGE mistake will help us a lot down the line.
I just don't see our team's production dropping off that much (if any at all) if we went with Jackson/Brown/Garcia at PG for the rest of the year. Beno is an amazing player if he's making under 1 mil a year, however, getting a full MLE is clearly no where near what Beno deserves, and we need every cent of cap space. The ONLY way of getting people to come to Sac, is to force them to come here, then to overpay them. (Think back at every resigning, with the exception of Martin, we pretty much overpaid a bit for every player, but that's simply the reality we have to face being a town like Sacramento)

Re: Official Brad Miller Trade Speculation Thread
Beno's contract isn't great right now, but if he can correct some of his shortcomings, it's not really bad at all. Like others have said in the past, MLE are usually for below average starters and above average bench players. Part of Beno's struggles are situational, and part of them are based off of things that he still needs to work on, but he can get better. And if he can just cut down a little on the turnovers, maybe up the assists, and score with the efficiency with which he is capable of scoring he'll be a decent, below average starter. I think if he works to improve as a player and the situation around him is improved, and his role is a bit more clearly defined, that averaging something like 14/3/5.5 to 2.3 TPG with decent defense on good percentages (up until a few games ago, when he has been playing hurt, I believe he was around 48% from the field), he'll be worth his contract. It has looked bad at times because so many of his turnovers have been of the "what is he doing?" variety, but he's really not that far from being sufficiently productive for his contract.

Re: Official Brad Miller Trade Speculation Thread
The thing I am disappointed with Beno the most is his deep shooting. He seemed to really turn the corner last year and I think that a deep shot being a part of his game is vital moving forward.
Probably couldn't get Noah, Gooden, and a 1st from Chicago. Don't underrate Drew Gooden, he is a pretty darn good PF and is pretty talented. He'd be our starting PF if traded here and I wouldn't be surprised to see him re-signed if he does come here. If we could get a package of Gooden and Noah or Ty Thomas I'd be OK with that.

Thanks for updating the title Mitch i wasn't trying to mislead anyone i was just trying to be creative
anyways the most promising trade partners seem to be the following teams
miami
chicago
charlotte
clevland
outside possibilities
knicks
raptors
pacers
pistons
i think the bulls or cavs will land miller the only way i see charlotte having a chance is in a three way trade !

Without the first rounder i would do this

mj-23 the trade i agree would be fair without the picks that said the salaries would not match then
if the bulls want miller the 1st round pick would get it done
The bulls wont go very far with gooden & noah in the playoffs but have a chance to advance further with millers toughness and veteran presense
The bulls getting douby also frees up more options for them to trade hinrich, thabo, gorden etc. if they wish not to mention they have been trying to get rid of nociani
Remember the kings sit in the drivers seat here with Miller to any team that wants to make a hard push at making the playoffs or a title run Petrie does not need to do a deal just to do it Petrie will look for the best deal the team that gives that little extra something that the other teams wont thats the team who will land MILLER time thus the Bulls adding the 1st rounder !

I;d be on board with the Miller/Wallace swap if we could get a Beno/Felton inclusion going too.
Then turnaround and deal Salmons to Toronto for Bargs/1st.
Kings new roster:
C: Hawes, Bargs, Williams
PF: Thompson, Moore, Thomas
SF: Wallace, Cisco, Greene
SG: Martin, Jackson, Douby
PG: Felton, Brown
3 2009 1st round picks
and a load of money to work with in 2010.

SMILLS i like your idea of a trade however i would probally pass mostly because felton would want a serious raise in salary my guess likely starting off between 8-10 million per season my guess is likely 9 or 10 million when you factor that and wallace's salary we would not have much cap room i dont think those 2 guys with the subtractions of ,iller & beno get us the KINGS were we want to be down the line !

I dont want Felton for long term, I want him for his ender.
Basically it breaks down to Salmons/Beno's contracts = Wallace then Felton/Bargnani = shaving a year off of Brad's deal. Thus we have cap space to sign a free agent in both 2009 AND 2010.

I can see were you are going with this though i can see the logic behind it i doubt if the kings traded for felton i doubt they just let him expire it is my belief they would give him a 5 year contract starting at least at 9 million yearly !
this is why i dont think that deal happens!

Re: Official Brad Miller Trade Speculation Thread
If the Kings really wanted Felton for the long term it might be better to acquire him in a sign and trade during the offseason or just make an outright FA offer for him at that time. As a RFA his QO would be on the books keeping Petrie from possibly acquiring more appealing names next summer. I can't see giving up talent for a guy that will be a FA next summer. It's not like he is going to help the Kings make a playoff run this season.

There is no trade the Bulls would do for Miler that includes any of our young guys. Forget it. Its just not going to happen. The Kings are not going to get salary relief, 1st round picks and young prospects for Brad Miller. He is not an all-star player. Brad Miller is nothing but a reserve on a championship team and a stop gap for non-contenders. On top of that, he's 32 years old. You guys are dreaming. Think of it this way: If Brad Miller were on the Bulls would you guys trade an expiring contract (e.g., Bobby Jax; and keep in mind here, Gooden is only 27 and is a starting PF on alot of teams), Spencer Hawes/ Thompson and a 1st round pick for Brad Miller?
The Kings are not "in the drivers seat" because guess what? Miller is not going to make a substantial difference on any team he goes to, he's not that good. I'm sure you've noticed that the Kings are like 7-22. Apparently, Miller isn't that good.
You might get salary relief for Miller, but if you want picks and young prospects you're going to have to take on salary--and alot of it.

Leto 1st off your a bulls fan not a KINGS fan you do not belong here i saw you post were you show an article by a bulls writer stating the bulls dont need MILLER and you jumped on that bandwagon !
From what i have read from your other bulls fans he is no more credible than some of the writers that write the trade rumore from New York !
I am not saying the KINGSwill trade with the bulls i think it is just about as likely we trade with the bulls as if we do with about 7 or 8 other teams such as the cavs, raptors, heat etc. i was only stating what type of deal we would get if the trade happened !
F.Y.I. you are not an expert you are no more than a person reading an article and believing every little thing you read
Do you not remember growing up were you parents or even a teacher says dont believe everything you read ?
if so believe this because your reading it THE KINGS just traded quincy doubt to the CAVS for LEBRON JAMES straight up ! do you believe that ? MY GUESS IS NO ! why because to believe that would show you believe anything you read .
Bottom line you need to stay off our boards posting and just read our conversation if you want it is not for us to post arguments etc. on yours just for us to read unless possibly a trade etc. does happen were we can say something like hey good trade you got such & such a player this is what he brings to the table etc.
I believe it is just as possible we do a trade with the bulls for what i mentioned before or simular to it as it is that we dont i would say its a 40 - 50 % chance we do trade with the bulls feel free to post this and paste it on your board if you want again i have read your origional boast on your bulls board as well as other comments from others and though quit a few mention they want KAMAN etc. there are many others who want MILLER but even if you or they dont want him none of you are BULLS owners or management ! Enough said !!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, these aren't "your boards". As far as I know, Im free to express my opinions anywhere I like so long as I do not personally attack anyone. I have not done that to you nor anyone else on this forum. Stop trying to bully people into aquiescing because you don't agree with what they write.
FYI, one does not need to be an "expert" to understand that there is no way the Kings are getting Noah, Thomas or any of the Bulls young players in conjunction with a salary dump. Also, Sam Smith has inside info from the Bulls FO and he specifically said he has "heard" the Bulls are not interested in Miller. I read that to mean he's talked to people in the FO.
The rest of your post has not an iota of substance worth responding to. Kaman and Miller are in two different places. Kaman is a young center with 8 more solid years. I would consider trading Thomas or Noah for him (although I would still be opposed at this point in disagreement with other Bulls fans.) On the other hand, I would not do it for Miller and I doubt you'll find many Bulls fans who would.
I'll be posting here whenever I like....

Re: Official Brad Miller Trade Speculation Thread
The board is welcome to anyone who has a valid opinion.
My opinion, and yes I'm an expert
I don't see the Kings OR the Bulls a good fit for Brad Miller right now. I can see teams that are in the hunt for a ring a good home for Miller like the Spurs, Cavs, Mavs, Nuggets, etc. Teams that are close and need a veteran piece AND don't want to give up too much future for it. I don't think all (or any) of the teams listed are interested in Miller, but that's a likely scenario in which Miller could end up. I don't see why Charlotte would want him or Chicago.

Re: Official Brad Miller Trade Speculation Thread
There is speculation of a Miller/filler (Douby) to the cavs for Wally/J.J Hickson.
I think I would do it just to get salary relief so we could trade for a star player who a team might fear is going to leave them high and dry for nothing.. Or just so we can cherry pick free agents next year.
Heres the link.
