Re: draft day deal
Why dont we just have an official thread for all the people that want to sulk about what could have been? We could call it the "Official Whine, Bitch, Moan and Groan Draft Thread" or the "Ahfishal McFail iz teh sux0r thread"
Seriously, lets compound the griping, I'll admit my initial reactions to certain moves havent exactly been mature, but lets move on from this topic. I got over it and so can you

Re: draft day deal
That's what I used to think with Brewer instead of Gomes at SF. Now it it is now a coulda, woulda, shoulda.

Re: draft day deal
if we're in Thabeet contention still with Mayo, then why is he such a better fit?

Wolves SG production is ranked 19th, Memphis 13th. Nothing worth going seppuku over.

We ain't gonna win anything anyway. Why are you trying to take whining away from us? It's all we have left.

I'm with basti. There's plenty of brainless fan-sites that posters can go to that are almost all whining.
This is RealGM. I expect more from posters. The question a "real GM" would face isn't, "How do we whine some more about the past" but "What do we do about it now, to help the team's future?"

Re: draft day deal
I'm not sure why discussing the past is brainless, especially when the same guys are making the decisions. Looking at the past is part evaluating ability, something a "real GM" needs to do.

Re: draft day deal
I'm cool with the whining about Foye over Roy because Roy exudes winning basketball and Foye has spun his tires so much, but not as much about Mayo over Love because we got a couple add'l assets besides Love and Love has had some relatively impressive games so far in his own right

blah blah blah blah blah...What a skill it is to second guest something in the past. I bet you scouted them personally and had all the right answers. It is a shame that you do not work for the team OP.

I think the Roy vs Foye and Mayo vs Love threads have run their course. Can we just lock them when they pop up?

Re: draft day deal
well I guess I should have worded it better. I don't care if you want to whine but I'm so sick of every thread turning into a whining thread. is that really neccessary?
if you feel better by whining, sure go ahead but please don't drag other posters down everytime. it get's really annoying. yes we won't win it anyway in the near future but we should always look ahead hoping that one day (hopefully rather soon) Taylor will wake up realizing how messed up this franchise is and start from rock bottom again in terms of FO and execution - or even some players.

Actually I think the reaction to the OP was much worse than the post itself. What is wrong with indulging in a little fantasy now and then? It was the extreme reaction that some of you guys responded with that was really negative. If you don't like a thread, don't respond. There is enough traffic on the site that it will go away on it's own if it's not of interest. We all know the wolves are struggling which naturally makes posters in a worse mood - but lighten up.

Now and then has turned into almost a daily occurence. Maybe we should have just a stickied thread like someone mentioned where people can post...
"IMAGINE IF...
C - Wilt Chamberlain
PF - Al Jefferson
SF - Scottie Pippen
SG - Brandon Roy
PG - OJ Mayo"
...until they're blue in the face. Someone was complaining about potential trade threads this weekend, but seriously, those are a little more relevant and interesting than the 462nd "What if" thread. Bottom-line is if we had drafted Roy, we probably would have screwed him up, and if we didn't, we wouldn't have had a shot at OJ Mayo.

But Jaric's more versatile.

If only Stojko didn't smoke 5 packs a day we wouldn't have needed Wilt.

Pippen

When Wilt found out that this was “The Land of 10,000 Lakes” and NOT “The Land of 10,000 Babes”, McHale was force to make the trade for the versatile Jaric.
