Yi is garbage. It was evident from day 1 last year.
Khris Middleton - Beating up on Trash Can Teams since 1943. Invisible Man status otherwise.

I wouldn't call Yi garbage... He's made evident strives since last season. I'd have to check but I believe his usage rate is down from last season as well sooo yeah... Take it as you will but remember that more or less no plays are being run for Yi right now so if you're expecting some sort of monster offensive output from him you're going to be greatly disappointed...

(fyi, your forgetting our talk...in regards to any player and how certain intangilbles, especially on the defensive end, dont show up in box scores/statisitics...)
Mr Anderson has held his own on the defensive end and has mixed it up with the best of them, getting in a little scrum under the basket vs the Heat that lead to an easy Lopez bucket (not shown in the box score, unless it was credited as an asst...it should be noted, despite an off shooting night, Ryan did have 7 rebs 2 asts and 2 block shots and at least altering 1 other shot...L. Frank always stresses this, which is a huge point...when your shot is not falling, pick up your game in other areas that can obviously help the team, and Ryan definitely does this)...For a rookie, he's aggressive and fearless...took a beautiful charge vs Miami along the baseline (again not showin in the box score)...but we all know he's in the game for offensve, as a long range shooter...he's streches the floor for us, while moving the ball adequately rarely forcing shots...and we need him to be a little more consistent with his shot...
W/ Boone back adding some toughness inside and Trenton receiving more minutes for his defense, the rotation looks to be set again...just gotta keep Jarvis healthy, he brings a lot to our second unit, hopefully getting a chance start down the line...
So far, Anderson has produced 7 blocked shots, as of halftime of the Rockets game... But I think his blocks against total is far far higher. Is that mixing it up offensively? Being ineffective?
And we need him to be A LITTLE more consistent with his shot?? Are you for real here?? He's had 6 games already where he's had 5 or more shot attampts, with only 1 make!! He has 7 blocks! So he has almost as many 1 for whatevers as he has blocks!
Is that mixing it up?? Is that intangibles?
I'm not impressed by Anderson at all. If the coaching staff allows him to slide for not being productive, he is going to become a cancer for the team.

I dont find it that necessary to start ryan. I think we need a guy to give a boost off the bench like Ginobli in San Anton. Yi is just slow and steady so far.. not really a game changer, but still contributes. We've always had a problem with our bench completely stalling out in the past so I think it's good for Ryan to come off the bench to ease that transition. He's kind of like RJ when he was a rookie.
One thing on his game though. I would like to see him finish better at the rim. I love his rebounding but he needs to either look for contact and/or be more intent on putting it in the basket.

his shooting has gone from spotty to just plain horrible...when you have games where you show you can put numbers up while shoot well from the floor, a coach will extend his leash during a so called shooting slump...the leash gets extended because you are doing other things, as mentioned with examples from actual in game play, because the coach sees the effort put forth beyond what your obvious role is...
you see the rotation lately and how Dooling, Boone and Hayes are most likely going to be playing the bigger minutes off the bench...followed by a defensive substitution in Hassle...they're doing their jobs consistently and the coaching staff feels they're able to rely on these four players off the bench...
Ryan shooting has dropped off the charts, pretty much since his 21 pt game he had about 8 games ago...he followed it up w. a decent effort in a horrible loss vs Utah...in the last 6 games he hasnt produced more than 1 fg...so its obviously a no brainer with a decrease in minutes...on most nights, unless Frank sees Ryan catch fire, he will fall behind the above 4 players...and I have no issues with that...
intangibles mean nothing when your not doing what you were brought in to do in the first place and thats score and shoot from the outside in Anderson's situation... a shooting slump is one thing, but at this point his confidence on floor and shot overall looks very shaky...again, you see his minutes cut in half accordingly...there is a line you draw as a coach and Frank has done so appropriately...
However, addressing Ryan as a cancer is more than an overstatement an obvious misjudgemnent on anyone's part who has SEEN Ryan's better games as a rookie...but I am pleased we did not read about Stromile Swift...
