Please answer me this question, and I haven't checked salaries or anything, but I THINK I would do this, don't shoot me.

Lamar Odom for Nate Robinson.

Back up for Fisher, scorer, tough little SOB, hypes the crowd, great FT shooter, and would put a light under Farmar's arse. would you guys do that?

EDIT: I'm guessing they'd throw one more filler in, it's probably buying a little high on nate and selling low on Lamar, but I would absolutely love to have Nate on our team.

Nearly useless considering it would blast huge holes into our PF rotation and not solve anything at SF.

No one has said that Buss is not willing to take on extra salary if the team clearly cannot beat the Celtics. He just won't do for it any la-dee-da random purpose.

Lamar for a pg and a 4. Lakers need is a rugged hustle energy guy at the 4 able to play great d and some scoring. Which is what lamar was hoping to be off the bench this season. Now with Farmar going down, they may need another backup pg as well.

Probably just better off signing Marbury right now to fill that PG spot. We can't really afford anything else.

ODOM!

Post#25 » by Boognish » Tue Dec 23, 2008 8:20 pm

I hate to bag on our players, but Odom is the biggest waste of talent. He has infuriated me for the last five years with his non-stop bone head plays. He is 6'10", yet takes it to the hole like a b*tch every f*cking time! WTF doesn't he dunk the ball and finish the play?!?! After every weak drive, he whines to the refs and takes a stupid foul. And if the refs ever bail him out with a touch foul, he NEVER finishes for the three point play, and just throws it at the basket.

I don't know that trading Odom is the answer to the Lakers' problems, or that we even have a problem. Who knows, maybe this team will still pull it out. But especially after last night's game, it seems that Odom must have been dropped on his head as a baby, or something along those lines.

Am I the only one that feels this way about Odom?

Arizas stock is at an all time high
Odoms is at an all time low.

I like the idea of selling high and buying (extending LOw)

Ariza could be dealt for a great asset for this team. LOs been w/ this team for a while. I want to keep LO more than Ariza. Lakers extend core guys like Sasha, Luke and others during contract years and we know how that goes
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

It's pointless though in one sense in that neither of these guys truly is a starter though. Why waste so much money on guys who cannot start on a championship caliber team?

Both should be used as trade assets to get us what we need. A championship caliber triangle PG, SF, and backup PF. The team knows what it needs and simply needs to get over the chemistry problems of trading players and make deals.

Miles brought up the idea regarding Ariza/Farmar/Walton (or Radman) for someone like AK47.

That's be a great deal for us.

I'm not sure it's what they're looking for b/c AK47 is still running the point forward position for Jerry Sloan (like 25% of the time, I'm guessing).

Another great player that would fit along Kobe nicely would be Tayshaun Prince.

Dude's got length, handles, very good all around skills... and he is a capable man and team defender.

He would be excellent for us playing passing lanes and guarding the opposing team's best scorer.

Don't know if he's available though.. and if we can offer them anything great straight up.

But if they're going after Lebron in 2010... then we got a chance at him b/c we've got expiring contracts.

But then again... I don't expect the Lakers Front Office to make any moves.

They might be waiting on another no-brainer opportunity.
