My guess would actually be Pargo. That way they can try to work their magic to acquire a SF shortly after that retaining Odom or try to acquire a PF with guys like Mihm, then trade Odom.

With rumors swirling that Jordan Farmar could need surgery, veteran possibilities for the Lakers include Tyronn Lue and even Jannero Pargo.

Los Angeles could also wait and see how Sasha Vujacic does after moving from shooting guard to backup ballhander.

"I think Sasha can push that ball with a level that's OK," coach Phil Jackson said. "Decision-making, that's a different story."

I was actually hoping we would sign Pargo in the off-season. I really hope we pick him up here. While I'm not sure he is what we need from a defensive standpoint, I'm not sure we can get a good defensive point guard elsewhere. From that standpoint, he as absolute beast offensively. I thought he as a big key to the Hornets' success and they obviously miss having him.

Pargo FTW!!!

Then address SF via trade (hopefully including Farmar in the trade and getting another young PG in return too) and we are set, IMO.

just wait, something good is bound to happen when marbury gets waived. we get someone who is a veteran and expericned and a proven player with the same price as we would if we sign pargo or lue.

I can't say that I've followed Pargo over the years, but is there any particular reason that no team signed him this year? Does he suck that bad? He seems to do well against us, but I look at his season stats and they aren't overly impressive, at least not as impressive as Lue's.

I'll take whoever plays better defense though.

Pargo

Marbury.... I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play at all this year. Doesn't seem like he cares and Walsh is playing the waiting game trying to get a buyout bargain better than full price.

I can't see the problem with adding Pargo. It makes our rotation stronger once Farmar comes back and may even fix our problems there to some degree.

It allows us to use all of our other resources elsewhere specifically at SF.

Lue.

I have no idea how you get Pargo from Russia. It doesn't sound easy.

If we try to get Pargo out of Siberia, he will want some type of extended deal (at least 2 - 3 years).

With Lue, we know what we are getting: a spot up shooting, point guard defending player who makes 2 mill a year and expires after this season. Definitely a low risk, high reward move.

Mihm, Vujacic, and a second round draft pick to MIL for Lue and Charlie Bell.

We lose a sharp shooting, defensive cupcake and gain two PG defenders and a SG defender.

I'd flip Farmar and Sun Yue to CHI for Thabo Sefolosha and all of sudden we'd have 3 good PG defenders (Fisher, Lue, Bell) who can also shoot and 3 solid SF defenders (Ariza, Sefolosha, Bryant).

Fisher - Lue
Bryant - Bell
Bynum - Gasol (ala McHale)
Odom - Powell
Ariza - Radmanovic

Sefolosha, Walton, and Mbenga (11 - 13)

Vujajic is far from a defensive cupcake.

The benefit of Pargo over Lue is that at least the former does not compromise our valuable trade package of Farmar+Mihm+Mbenga+Yue (four man trade package to acquire a SF).

^A SF like who?

With regard to the cupcake comment; I feel as though Walton, Radmanovic, Vujacic, Gasol, and to a lesser degree Farmar all make this team SOFT. If we can replace Vujacic with a more physical defender who can shoot too--it's a no brainer for me.

There is no REAL benefit of Pargo if their are NO REALISTIC other options at SF.

What the hell are you talking about? Have you done any research to see if there are a couple of guys available because there are. I'm asking for a guy who can shoot like Radmanovic and play decent D to compliment the starters so that we can put Bynum on the bench to dominate the Celtic 2nd unit.

Well for starters I am saying that Lue is more of a viable option because he IMO is a better defender, more consistent shooter and will (potentially) have a better contract (you don't typically go to Russia to sign someone for a half a year).

Secondly, you're right, there are PROBABLY some other SF options out there, but if you don't give any practical examples you can't refute my original point that Lue is more of a viable option and can't give any credence to holding on to Mihm for some FUTURE deal that is nothin but a miniscule notion in your mind.

YOU do the research to support YOUR points. You just might be right (Pargo might be a smarter move to hold onto Mihm for later). No one will ever know how intelligent you truly are unless you support your own crative ideas.

I'll take Westbrook for Farmar and 2 #1 picks.

I'm so tired of not having a dominant PG ..Magic, Sedalle, Van Exel, D Fish, who else am I missing? That's like it. None of those cats played any lockdown defense. Magic played good team D, and D Fish is agressive, but can't keep up with the uber PG's. I really though JCritt was going to be the next one, damn I was so wrong on him.

As far as Pargo or Lue? Pargo no question.

Melo was available this summer after the DUI. LO + Farmar might have done it.
