Re: Ideal Future!
I think we should keep everyone but Beno, Miller, and Moore. You have to base your future on how you match up with your rivals, for the the Kings winning goes through the Lakers, Portland, and San Antonio. Our bigs were manhandled by everyone this year. We need Hawes and JT in our future, but those 2 by themselves did not get the job done against Portland and LA. We need Shelden to play PF, Hawes at Center and JT at SF. I think it would be the best matchup against the other winning teams in the NBA like the Suns or Magic. The only 2 games we haung tough with Portland this year were during the preseason when Shelden played big minutes because Hawes and Miller are intimidated by Oden. We can draft a PG with our first pick next year, a backup beef (like Hansboroughish) with our other picks. Have Brown, Garcia, Salmons, Greene, Future Bigs (Free Agent or Draft) come off the bench and the depth of the Kings are fantastic. I think we should hire a coach who can succeed with both half court and fast paced offense since we are loaded with talent for both. JT would fit as a SF since he has been a Guard most of his life anyway, unless we are playing Kobe. I think it is way too early to give up on Williams, and am only giving up on Beno. Beno would be a great fit on a team with stars, not where he has to carry everything (like JWill was with the Heat with Wade and Shaq). We need a more Bibby like PG who can win games himself (Curry or Harden), I am willing to check out Brown in the meanwhile. I think this year is ugly we have to match the talent to the coach, and after the draft and FA (after Miller moves) we will be fine in a couple of years.

Re: Ideal Future!
BMiller it's so bad right now where do you turn? It's not like when we were saying trade Peja for Ron Artest when Webber was still in town. That was just one move. We need like 6-7 moves, and IMO they all have to be the right ones. I don't think Salmons, sitting, standing, protesting, or otherwise is going to help anything.

Marion would be absolutely terrible on the King's. He is clearly a player that needs a strong PG to help his game, and we have a bottom 5 PG in the league.

Re: Ideal Future!
Lets see how hard this is...
Approach: King's get ready to save money this year, to get ready to spend a bundle next year.
Trade 1 w/ Chi
Sac: B. Miller
Chi: L. Hughes, Lotto Protected 09 1st (Top 12 protected '10)
Trade 2 w/ Tor
Sac: J. Salmons
Tor: A. Parker, Top 12 Protected 09 1st (Top 10 protected '10)
Trade 3 w/ LAC
Sac: B. Udrih, Sac '10 2nd, Cash
LAC: J. Hart, B.Skinner, S. Novak
*Hart, Novak cut*
Final Roster
PG: L. Hughes/B. Brown/B. Jackson
SG: *K. Martin*/A. Parker/Q. Douby
SF: F. Garcia/D. Greene
PF: J. Thompson/M. Moore/K. Thomas
C : S. Hawes/S. Williams/B. Skinner
*Bring back Martin as late as possible. Not until he is 100000% sure that he is healthy, idea being, don't risk Martin whatsoever, essentially tank a bit more while he is out, give the team and fans hope as we will most likely improve once Martin gets back. Make the fans think, "hey, we aren't THAT bad, perhaps a healthy K. Martin next season will make things all right."
Draft Picks
Sac, Chi*, Tor*, Hous.
With our own pick, we will likely be in the position to draft Griffin/Thabeet/Hill.
With our other 1-3 picks, trade up to be able to draft Mills/Lawson/Collison (whoever Petrie sees fit).
Roster at summer
PG: P. Mills, L. Hughes
SG: K. Martin
SF: F. Garcia, D. Greene
PF: J. Thompson
C : S. Hawes, H. Thabeet
Now, spend the big bucks!
Not to obtain a star player, but instead, get our players many many many coaches. Webber, Barkley, Mourning, Vlade, Dikembe, etc.

Re: Ideal Future!
Denied your 1st trade is terrible , your 2nd trade is right on , your 3rd trade is off also !
i say this plain & simple with Brad i am still confident he go to the bulls but on the off chance he doesnt i would do these other deals
to the cavs miller & douby for szczerbiak & a future 1st round pick
to the heat miller & k9 for marion simply to rid k9 & creat 20 + million in cap for next year
to knicks miller,k9 & douby for marbury reason save 21 million plus to creat cap space for next year then keep marbury's dumb @ss at home and stay away from our team !
then look to trade M.Moore for a 2nd rounder or package him with S.williams
keep in mind douby & sheldon are very unlikely going to be brought back to sac next year though anything is possible
With Miller i would hold out for awhile if needed because there will be teams getting more desperate to add another solid piece to make a title run or there will be a big man possibly injured thus making Brad even more important o a team these things said only on the basis that none of the above 4 possible Brad deals work out !

Re: Ideal Future!
Got to lazy and bored to put up any reasonings.
Rubio doesn't look like he is declaring this year, and if Thabeet/Griffin are legitimate players, then we will be needing a PG. Mills is a player that I and many others, feel is something special. His speed is unmatched. However, we will need a near lotto pick to obtain him. Thus, we trade for Chicago's pick. I highly doubt they will trade up a pick that isn't protected. Toronto, we are trading for the pick as well, with hopefully we receive either the Tor or Chicago pick, hopefully both.
With, potentially 4 picks, Hughes/Thomas' expirings, and Beno/Salmon's contract cleared, next year, we are in an incredible position. A package of Hawes/Thompson/Sac 09/Chi 09/Tor 09/Hous 09/Sac '10 + 20 mil in expiring, would clearly be the best package for any player out there in either a trade or S&T.
Szcerbiak and future 1st is not better than Hughes and lotto protected 09.
Cap space next year means absolutely nothing. The only player worth obtaining cap space for is Boozer, who is a money whore, and not a number 1 option. Essentially its Miller for Mills.

Re: Ideal Future!
You also fail to realize that just because you have alot of capspace to use doesnt exactly mean you use it right then & there
my szczerbiak proposal is better than the hughes deal IMO hughes demanding alot of minutes would only hurt the kings locker room etc. and he would be nothing more than a back up to k-mart & if we kept salmons hughes would be a back up there to so why risk that type of distraction ? its not worth it !
I completely agree that the 2010 free agent class is far better than 2009 keep in mind right now as it stands there will be 18 teams below the cap for 2010 by alot lord knows i want L.james,Bosh,Wade etc. but its highly doubtful we will get any of those guys

Re: Ideal Future!
I would trade Salmons and the HOU pick to move up on draft day. We would have the 1-5 pick (PG). Then maybe 5-10 picks later we have another pick (physical, strong, defensive SF). I would like to get a younger Ron Artest clone. This is a longshot i know but is there any player in the draft like that? I mean a player that has biceps as big as Beno's head?
I think we should sign Milsap in the off season as our defensive big man. He is physical and plays with a lot of energy. I think we might be able to get a good deal in 09 with so many people saving for 2010.
Jennings or PG from draft/Brown or Beno (one of them has to go)
Martin/Garcia
Draft Pick?/Greene
Thompson/Milsap
Hawes/Moore or Milsap
I like the idea of keeping Moore as a vocal veteran to keep the young team together. I think he is an awesome veteran to have while rebuilding a team, however I am definitely not completely opposed to trading him.
Thoughts?
