Andre Iggy isn't the first guy to say the celts are trash talkers and in fact I think it's quite popular right now in the NBA to say that the Celtics are trash talkers. This started a while back and has just gathered momentum as the season has gone on. Garnett who used to revered when he was in Minny is now satan now that he's in Boston and we've won a title. Last night Iggy says that the Pistons were a great team ( intimidating) but that we're trash talkers. Jealous? yeah I think so a little bit but you can't ignore the steady line of witnesses who say the Celts talk trash all the time. Certainly Eddie does and we know Paul and KG do and probably Perk but I don't see it from Ray, Tony, Leon,Scal,Gabe, Glenn ,ROndo or POB. So what's that 4 out of 12 guys? eddie shooting a 3 at the buzzer was uncalled for but Lou Williams was clearly trying to pad his stats so how is that different? It just seems that when you're the champs and you're winning everyone needs to find something negative they can say about you. I wsh we weren't trash talkers but some guys need that to get going. Larry Bird was one of the leading trash talkers of his day and I''ll bet that COrnbread had plenty to say as well.

It's a little of both. Either you talk trash or you don't, and nobody cares unless you're winning.

Trash talking is a way to get a psychological edge for both the player doing the talking as well as the recipient. Muhammad Ali made it into an art form. If they let it affect them, it can really get under the competitors skin.

KG has always been very vocal, it's what he does to get himself fired up. It may or may not be directed at anybody. It's just the way he approaches the game. Nobody cared when he was with Minn, but now that we are winning and dominating teams, it's become a big deal with the press. It's just the latest reason for not liking the Celtics. The real reason for not liking the Celtics however, is because we are the defending champs.

Based on my personal experience, trash talkers talk a lot more when they are winning then when they are losing. It's a way of claiming dominance.

Personally, I hope we continue to dominate and talk talk talk.

I'm a Raptor fan and I LOVE the fact that everyone is crying about the celtics trash talking. I admire the celtics for getting under people's skin like this. I wish the Raptors had swagger like this.The only reasons people are complaining is because you guys are running through the L with ease. (The only thing i don't agree with was when KG slapped calderon in the face. That's crossing the line. Talk all you want, but don't put your hands on someone and try to embarass them on T.V.)

VERY true. I don't understand why peoples emotions turn so feminine, like a little woman. If you take things like trash talking so personal, regardless of who you are, NBA player or fan, change your gender to Female, because that's what you are.

do you mean when he wagged his finger at Calderon, and then Calderon went on to complain to the ref in the middle of the play and then proceeded to have a crappy game, he'd been having all day.

i don't recall kg slapping calderon, because he would have been ejected or suspended for starting a fight like that. kg was suspended for hitting that center in Milwaukee though....after that player hit him in the face twice with the elblow. that seemed like self defence.

what he did to calderon though was kinda ridiculous though, funny aswell....i'll admit that. calderon's play in general is what ppl should be worried about. not kg being weird.

and as a raptor fan, you know damn well Calderon embarrasses himself each game, on multiple occasions, mostly on defense. he doesn't need KG or anyone to help him in that.

as for all the players complaining...thats what athletes do. complain complain complain.

kg, paul pierce even perk have never been called nice on the court. why should they change when winning? its obvously working to get under players skins that they have to talk to the league about it. right after they lost the game.

I ask this question......trash talking has been around forever in the NBA so what makes this year any different? Maybe this....before last year it was 20 plus years before a C team could talk trash. The other teams and fans can't take it and it is the only thing they can complain about. KG was too intense it was bully was the cry pickin on players, not winning like some other teams as if we have to win a certain way with in itself is bull. The league tried to tech us to death and all it did was school us on getting our focus on this streak and Perk has learned and only gotten better. Now the boys trash talk tooooo much. The whole deal is the C's are winning and it fuels the haters in the league. To answer my question the others are mad because it is the C's turn now to talk it....and they are. To answer the OP's question the other teams are just jealous.

I have to be honest. I thought KG's trash talking was a little much back in the day,like when he jawed at Duncan in the Playoffs the first time they met. I thought he came off like a bully. I didn't understand how he was,and that it wasn't quite as mean-spirited as it may have sounded. He could tone it down a bit,but honestly he's kinda funny,plus I LOVE the intensity he shows when we really need it. He single-handedly pumps up our team when he's into it.

I'm convinced when KG is talking trash it isnt about the other player. it is about his team and just getting himself all jacked up. That is what is great about the guy. He is tough to figure out.
