Stephon Jax wants a trade, he'd be perfect
Tough, uber clutch at the free throw line, can get to the rim and don't back down from no one. He is the perfect SF. Ship Lamar to GSW for him.

Salary considerations aside (I'm not sure what he makes but I suspect it would be too burdensome for us to take on) I agree that he could be the perfect for our needs.
Terrific three point shooter and defender, this is exactly what we've been looking for in a SF.

Kobe's career will be over by the time Jax starts to grasp the triangle offense.

^ I can appreciate your position, he's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. BUT, anyone who was able to be a starter (let alone a key cog) on one of Pop's championship teams in SA can play with my Lakers anytime.

Jax makes 7.1 million this year as opposed to Lamar's 11.1. Ronnie makes around 4.1 million. That being said Ronie probably just a pipe dream, since he was named Captain. But still Kenny Azubuike would be a nice addition as well.
Jax has struggled recently w/ wrist injury but he can get to the free throw line and make them and he is killer from 3 when he heats up. He also plays tough defense which is always nice in a 6-8 small forward.

I doubt we could get him for Radmanovic+Farmar though?

I'm glad I'm not Mitch/Jerry Buss. This is a tough call (now that I know how much Jax is on the books for). I think he's an ideal option otherwise, but I'd try to swing something for Battier first.

I just think he has far more skills than Battier and is more available for trade.
It doesn't take a brain surgeon to play in the triangle offense. Especially not where your role is to chuck in the corner, make a smile pass and play D.
Fortunately for us Golden State made a dumb error extending him. Radmanovic fits their system and they are DESPERATE for an offensive PG capable of doing it all in the open court and half. Anybody get my drift?

What's so tough about it? The guy is a total dumb-ass and has a radioactive contract. Ever wonder why the Spurs didn't make sure to keep him? Because he's an overpaid lose cannon idiot, much like Artest. That's my personal opinion.

the idea of getting shane battier should be banned from this board.
i'd like stephen jackson, but the money just doesn't matchup. shame because with nelly winning a power struggle in golden state, odom might even be a long term solution for them at pf.

How is he a total dumbass? He's stayed out of the trouble and is likely the cheapest player available at a major position of need.
He might be had for Farmar+Mihm+Mbenga+Yue (adding up to a total of 4.7m making a trade for a 7m player possible).

There's a chance we could get him for Farmar+our expirings, now that would be something wouldn't it?

Wow. I'm floored by some of these responses.
EE - I saw where you were coming from until you launched that all out attack on him in your last post. I think you're being a little too harsh, I mean, if Rad can start at SF, I'm pretty Jax has the ability to play the SF in the triangle. Also, I said it was tough to call b/c of his contract, so don't post that as a reason defending your position that its not a tough call (I'm conceeding that).
Dcash -- we're usually on the same page, what don't you like about Battier? I think he'd be perfect (again, I'm not sure of his contract, but I can't imagine its too bad).

i love battier. i just think its so unrealistic its not even worth bringing up. he's on one of the 3 teams that is going to challenge the lakers for the western title, he's not on some rebuilding team. he's the best answer they have for kobe, and the best answer for the lakers' weaknesses, and we are suppose to expect them to hand him over? artest isn't even signed to a long term deal, so battier is as much in their future plans as he'd be with the lakers.

If Farmar wasn't injured I would think it would be a strong possibility.
Honestly though who the heck is going to trade for this guy anyway. The Warriors aren't even looking for expirings. Radmanovic fits what they want to a T and he shoots an incredible percentage from point range. Farmar is a real point guard who could thrive there.

plus we would have to trade odom to houston for battier. do you really want to see a starting lineup of yao, odom, artest, mcgrady, alston? i don't think we can beat them to get out of the west.
