He just signed an extension for 5 years. Do you want to pay him 10 million in 2012/13 when he is 35 years old?

There is no way we take on a terrible contract like that!

I think we need to think smaller. Scal+Giddens for Trenton Hassel or Scal+Giddens for Damien Wilkins kind of small...

I think Trenton Hassell would fit in well with the Celtics... but Giddens projects to be a very similar player. I'm not sure the small benefit that Hassell provides in the short-term outweighs the potential of Giddens in the future + Scal, though hes is a mediocre baller at best, still brings postive qualities to a team's chemistry plus his outside shooting and hustle at PF is a nice, occasional change of pace type option in short stints.

Damien Wilkins is the worst starter on Thunder, his shooting is awful, his defense is below average. What could he bring to Celtics?
Hassel also regressed this year.č

Forgive me but lets see......19 game winning streak, 27-2 record and we still have trade ideas?! :o
Adding a piece or two I can see, but if it's not broken why go tampering with it?

Maybe it's just me.

If it means 3 more titles then I'd overpay him the last 2 years. We have to think about the longevity of Paul and Ray. With Jackson off the bench they may play for much longer at a higher level. Besides I'm sure PP, KG and Ray will be willing to take a paycut to keep the team winning.

i thought now that we were winning, we could put the idiotic trade ideas to rest. I thought wrong.

The strange thing about this idea is that it isn't very good for either team. Why would GS ever do this?

this is crazy for GS. and not that great for us either.

it reminds me of the trades people used to come with for Pierce back when the C's sucked. just because the C's sucked people thought we might just give away our team leader and best player for chump change. um, no. it doesn't work that way. and neither is GS going to give up its leader and best player for chump change just because they aren't winning.

Jackson is terrible. He can't dribble, he doesn't drive, he turns it over A LOT, he doesn't play much D, and he's a chucker who has a God awful shooting percentage. No thanks.

S-Jax is a natural born #2/#3 offensive option. If you have another player that can take most of the attention then he takes advantage of the cracks in the defense.

With us this year he has been a #1 option and it hasn't been pretty. I think his fortune and ours will change when Monta comes back and regains form in a few months.

If you guys want Maggette, then we can talk.

I don't like Jackson at all. But honestly, the guy is a big time player and on the court can step up and play like a champion. To think you could get that guy for nothing is crazy. If GS would trade him for Big Baby and chump change then Cleveland will get him for Snow's contract and a future #1 if they want. If he is being shopped for anything..... teams like Orlando, Cleveland and San Antonio who have a great need for another wing with offensive punch and big play capability will offer up a much better package than 2 borderline pros and damaged goods.

I used to hear this talk about Antoine Walker too. A 33% 3 point shooter still gets 3 pts on 3 shots the same as a 50% post player like Al Jefferson. Bottom line with Jackson is that he can put up 19 ppg on 16 shots. That isn't superstar level like Paul Pierce who can get 23 ppg on 13 shots at his peak.

I don't agree. The post player is going to get a lot of 3 point plays because of fouls, ends up getting O rebounds which are converted into points, and the ensuing chaos from the other teams fouls often results in good players sitting because of foul trouble resulting in more scoring for the entire team.

Do this Danny if you want to keep winning titles. Scalabrine isn't going to cut it at small forward.

I would think any deal for Jackson would have Tony Allen going out.

Just imagine the Celtics hate we could generate by making a move for Jackson. It would be great, Netsforce's head would explode. I doubt we could swing a decent deal for him though.
