No clue why they do that. I think it was the same way for the Tribe last year. If anything it helps the White Sox, since we got into their bullpen early. But now we get to look forward to 12 straight days of baseball.

I always wondered the same thing then as I was watching a game yesterday (cant remember which one) an announcer, who deserves sainthood for sharing the knowledge, said that they do it so that in case of bad weather they can push opening day back one day and still have all of the opening day celebrations. Why they couldnt do that on the next day regardless of the off day is beyond me, but thats what he said the reasoning was.
