Christmas Day Blockbuster!!!

Detroit and Orlando have agreed to an epic blockbuster.

The Detroit Pistons will be sending out young studs Andrew Bynum, Thad Young, and Amir Johnson as well as PG Earl Watson to the Orlando Magic in return for Superman himself, Dwight Howard. Royal Ivey will also be on his way to Detroit.

6,200,000 + 3,666,667 + 2,769,300 + 1,968,120 = 14,604,087
13,758,000 + 854,957 = 14,612,957

The numbers jive...

Detroit is sad to see 3 good young players leaving the fold and will miss Watson's defense and PG skills off the bench. Even though it was a lot to give we feel a player of Dwight's caliber is exactly what this team was in need of for our future plans to better succeed.

We wish our former players the best of luck. They are heading to an excellent franchise and should help propel the Magic into top tier status.

Sidebar - Detroit has been rumored to have made multiple attempts to land Dwight over the past few months and that persistance has finally paid off. In the end it took an exceptional offer to get the deal done. This trade leaves plenty of holes in the roster so we would not be the least surprised to see more moves made to flesh out/balance the roster.

The Bucks and Nuggets have agreed to a trade

Bucks Trade
Michael Redd
Joe Alexander
Charlie Bell
Bucks Receive
Antwan Jamison
DeShawn Stevenson
Dan Gadzuric
2010 2nd via Houston

Nuggets Trade
Antwan Jamison
DeShawn Stevenson
Dan Gadzuric
2010 2nd via Houston
Nuggets Receive
Michael Redd
Joe Alexander
Charlie Bell

Salaries:
Bucks Out: $15,780,000+$3,348,000+$2,002,600=$21,130,600
Bucks In: $6,250,195+$9,923,285+$3,616,071=$19,789,551x1.25=24,736,938
Math works

Why: While we lose our starting PF in Jamison, we gain a great player in Michael Redd. We probably now have the best backcourt in the league and will be looking for a starting center to fill out the roster. Joe Alexander is also a nice addition to the frontcourt as a backup.

The Bucks accept the above deal. To get a player of Jamison's value is huge. We hope Stevenson can regain his form in a new city. Gadzuric adds more depth to our front line.

Suns and Bucks agree to a trade

Bucks trade Richard Hamilton ($10,812,500) for Sam Dalembert ($11,238,564) and 2010 PHX 2nd. Math obviously works.

While we hate to lose a guy like Hamilton, Dalembert is a defensive presence that we hope will excel under Coach Scott Skiles' system and alongside Jamison.

Suns accept this deal. We are happy with Okafor's as our starting center and Dalembert will be underutilized in our player rotation. This deal gives us an upgrade in one of our SG spot. We like the veteran leadership and toughness that Rip will bring to this team.

still waiting for pistons/magic trade to be accepted.

bucks/nuggets trade received a veto request. i'm going to go ahead and let it through. reason being bucks gm seems very aware that he wants front court depth, and this trade gives him that. he seems to value jamison highly, while not valuing redd all that high, which is completely understandble. trade approved.

suns/bucks trade approved.

update rosters please.

The Bucks and Grizzlies have agreed to a trade.

Bucks Trade/Grizzlies Receive:
Francisco Elson $1,700,000
Adrian Griffin $1,711,000
Damon Jones $4,460,186
Ramon Sessions $722,517
Jason Hart $2,400,000
Malik Allen $1,300,000
Clippers' 2009 1st
Total: $12,641,924 x 1.25 = $15,802,405

Grizzlies Trade/Bucks Receive:
Chris Wilcox $6,750,000
Mike Conley $3,630,480
Hakim Warrick $2,119,102
Johan Petro $1,939,893
2009 Houston 2nd
2010 Los Angeles Lakers 1st
Total: $14,439,475

The Grizzlies accept this deal. We feel that Sessions is a better fit at point guard than Conley. Losing some players that were not in our long term plans (Wilcox--Warrick) was not that big of a risk for us. While Petro and Conley could be great at their positions I feel that this move is in the best interest of our team moving forward.

Bucks accept.

OK, so heres the deal. The only two parts I'm sad about losing are Sessions and the 1st. The rest are all currently 3rd stringers on my team. With this trade, I get back my new starting point guard in Conley and three players who will be key reserves on my basketball team. I hate to lose such a high pick, but I feel this trade will benefit my team greatly.

while we wait for confirmation, did this trade consider that bynum has a ppp contract? i don't see the math for that.

I thought once a player was traded once all restrictions were lifted? Bynum has been traded earlier in the tourney.

Bynum was traded twice already based on these numbers as he had not signed a contract until after this game was well underway.
