He's really just a great fit. Trading for him allows you to put your best four players out on the floor at the same time unlike what we have right now.

I don't mind this either... and you are right nobody in their fricken mind would pay him what he wants now that the suspicions of his missing the D'antoni offense have been confirmed. another system change might help, though.

He does fill most of what we need to a T...

I think we'll see it if Odom plays poorly against Boston.

Re: The merrits of Deng/Hinrich vs Odom/Farmar (no trades)

Post#963 » by magic1fan » Thu Dec 25, 2008 4:59 am

I would do it. i love odom, but i think deng would be great, because he is a better jumpshooter than odom to me. hinrich and farmar is not even close. hinrich is better by a mile. i think they would both flourish with a change of scenary, and the triangle.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

My first trade ever...jackson to lakers, odom to gs

Post#964 » by J-Rich- » Thu Dec 25, 2008 6:00 am

Try not to flame me really hard and insult me plz. Are you guys willing to do this trade?

http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.ph ... id=4888418

jackson
crawesome
buike

for

odom
ariza

You guys get the player you think is the missing piece to the puzzle while getting 2 more scoring weapons. Buike can make up for ariza's lost and crawford can play pg which you guys seem to need. I believe all 3 players will not jack up random jump shots with 17 seconds left in the shot clock under a hof coach who actually wants to win unlike nellie. In nellie's system you can be really undisciplined with your shots and still get away with it. But if the 3 players are on a championship team with a hof coach they'd take smarter shots and shoot at a much higher %. This messes up your salary cap but crawford has a player option after this season and if he doesnt opt out he expires in 2 seasons after this season ends.

Warriors get the kind of pf they've always wanted and would start which he hasnt done except for one game. Ariza can replace buike and can back up maggette at sf. If they dont resign for a reasonable price warriors get 17 million added to the cap space

Why, so we can hurt one of our best assets, having a deep bench. We're not trading LO unless we get a Billups level point guard.

It would be great to get guy like Jackson, but the only way the Lakers get in on this is by trading Radman and Farmar.

Looks like the move to be made now at least in Laker management's mind is probably a very cheap pickup of a PG (bet on Marbury if he's available) in addition to a strengthening of the SF position through a couple of expirings+Jordan Farmar. You could see a guy like Parker from Toronto become an option or a James Jones from the Heat who can hit the 3 and play some decent D.

Maggs/Jack/Williams for Odom/Mihm

You guys become even deeper, while GS gets expirings (which is all I want). I think cohan will sell soon and nelson will be gone, so we will be building towards the future,no incoming long-term contracts.

I think the ultimate move would be S Jax and Ronny returning for Odom and a 1st rd pick. It would seem the only way they could match up salaries. Everyone loved him, a GSW made him a captain I think but who knows he is only getting 17min per game, D Fish came back.

Then the Lakers' could trade Vlad for an expiring contract and the course of a happy salary cap would be back on.

Fish, Kobe, Bynum, Gasol, S Jax

Farmar, Sasha, Ronny, Mihm, Luke, Ariza, Benega.

Warriors arent giving up turiaf whose the best back up center in the league and jackson who is worth the money he's getting when healthy for Odumb and the 29th pick. The only way this would work if you take a bad contract along with jackson and the only bad contracts on warriors are crawford and maggette and you just match the salaries with your expiring contracts.

u can try to pass that off on any board expect this one. lakers fans know turiaf's talent

and save the "odumb" stuff for your own board

well turiaf is that valuable to us. if we have a head coach that actually wants to win turiaf would've been averaging at least 25 minutes and we would've gotten at least 8 more wins with andris and turiaf on the court together instead of the 4 guards and one center nellie has been using

So how does Odom/Farmar for Jack/Belinelli sound? Belinelli might actually back up both PG & SG postions for us imo and could be a more valuable asset than Farmar.
