Couple Quick Points

Post#1 » by tiredandhungry67 » Fri Dec 26, 2008 2:59 am

I just have a couple quick points I felt has been burning inside me for a while.

First:
Even after today's impressive win, we still have not played our best like we were at the beginning of the season. I feel as if we have been playing down to our opponents, as many people have mentioned, and it has been heart wrenching seeing us get into close game with Indiana and New York and losing to teams we can best such as Miami and Orlando. I love the squad we have, but if we sign a veteran player who can instill the necessity to show up at the top of our game every night and provide that extra energy spark, such as Lue or Mutombo, the rest will unfold.

Second:
Building on the first point, we have been anticipating today's match up since June. Phil may have bypassed it, and Kobe may have too, but the rest of the squad focused on Christmas as the biggest game, causing us to lose focus in the other games. Saying that, now I feel that we will start taking it one game at a time because we have nothing left to look forward to, except the playoffs and finals, that is worth deviating our attention from what is at hand now to the future.

Thanks for reading, happy holidays, and hope for a prosperous new year with a Larry O'Brien trophy in Los Angeles.

Let us give the Celts some credit. Of course we cannot play our absolute best against an all-time top defensive team.

Lue as in Tyronn Lue? He never was that good in the first place imo, neither on offense nor on defense and I don't think he will provide a lot of veteran leadership to be honest.

Mutombo would help in the leadership and defensive departments though, but he'll probably end up in Boston.
