What a difference a Day Makes

Post#1 » by Cyclical » Fri Dec 26, 2008 8:21 pm

Post Topics found on our board with a 27-2 record:
Other NBA records that the C's could tie or surpass
Lakers don't scare me one bit
Who would win Shaq/Kobe Lakers or the Current Celtics?
etc...

Post Topics found on our board with a 27-3 record:
I blame Doc/Rondo for this loss.
Mutombo Alone will not help us win a ring
Tony Allen needs to step up or he needs to go
Rondo's Shooting
We're doomed

OK, the last one is made up but c'mon, it's one loss. We're not exactly in trouble. It's only 30 games into the season and we already new our bench would need some fortifying in the long run. We kept it close til 2 mins. to go and were outplayed in crunch-time by a hungrier team. We're still a great team and the gold standard of the league. Don't let this over-hyped game put you into panic mode. Bench help will come. Bench play will improve.

I'm still not afraid of the Lakers. But as I have been saying even during the streak (when people kept bringing up our record) we need to address our bench problems. Our backup center and small forward spots are awful.

I don't think there is a team that can beat us in a best of 7 even if we kept the team the same. But to make sure we definitely don't get beat we need to bring in a center and small forward.

I agree, this place is on its head right now. 27-3, relax folks.
I know it sounds dumb, but I don't mind this loss. We weren't gonna win em all so what better way to keep the troops motivated then to fall to their archrivals in the most hyped game of the season and be forced to leave LA with their tails between their legs. Three cheers for optimism!!

I'm more concerned about Cleveland than LA. Cleveland has a better chance of still improving by dealing some of their expiring contracts and Lebron's a tougher matchup for Boston than Kobe... Guys like Gasol, Odom, Bynum, Vujacic and Walton are going to choke in a 7 game series with a tougher team, and Kobe can't carry them like Lebron can carry Cleveland.

If there is one thing that Kobe's been doing his whole career it's proving his doubters wrong. This case is no different.

I would like them to try Bill Walker over TA. Doc needs to start NOW to see what he has on the bench. Everytime Pruitt plays he seems to play steady and smart. Why not work him into the lineup more?

Walker or even Giddens need to play now and make their mistakes. Why not TA still makes them, how worse can they be at this time? Better now than later

i dont like to quote in the enemy territory....but this statement i could not let go. you said kobe rode shaq's coattails.....and when did paul pierce ever win anything without kg. you need to get real, without someone like kobe, shaq does not win and kobe does not win without shaq. just like paul pierce wont win without kg....so please stop that crap. you guys need to be scared of your bench. it is no where near where it was before and without posey you dont have a defender for the great one(kobe). you guys have a lot to fear, orlando, atlanta and cleveland. the celtics play at this high, high level for the regular season and with the old bodies like kg, ray allen and paul pierce, they will probably burn out before the playoffs. last year kg was out about 2 months and still struggle to complete the playoffs. you won last year. but the stars of last year where p.j brown and posey. where are those guys now? atlanta has some young legs......and you might not finish that playoff series this year.

Good point about KG and Pierce. You don't have a KG to go with Kobe. Keep dreaming that Gasol can ever do so....
