I like Luther Head. I'd rather it's him than Barry.
On talent alone I'm not sure what to think of this deal. Despite moving one young PF for another young PF, the differences couldn't be bigger.
One is a tall and athletic with a wide range of offensive skills and capable of carrying a team when he's on. He's also very inconsistent. However, CV is one of the few guys that has been in the league as long as he has that you could still say has considerable upside. If the light ever goes on he could be a serious weapon.
Landry is a short, below the rim PF with limited upside. But he's very efficient, consistent and hard working on both ends. He's also very underpaid.
The contract is what sells me. CV would have been gone next season, either via trade or RFA. Even after he had a string of nice games in the last month he still found himself buried on the bench in recent games. Good move to get another young big man, but one locked into a very team-friendly deal.
Here's a nice blog posting regarding his contract and play.I don't think this would be a great deal; I don't think it would be a bad one. Sort of one of those deals I don't think has a huge impact unless one of the two players suddenly becomes a top option as a starter.
