The Tennessee Titans (13-2) conclude their 2008 regular season schedule this week with a road game against the AFC South rival Indianapolis Colts (11-4). The Titans will be making their first appearance at Lucas Oil Stadium (capacity 63,000), which opened earlier this year. Kickoff is scheduled for noon CST on Sunday, Dec. 28. Following Sunday's game, the Titans enjoy a bye week before hosting an AFC Divisional Playoff game either Jan. 10 or 11 at LP Field. Their opponent will be determined following the Wild Card playoff round the first weekend in January.
TITANS AND COLTS IN POSTSEASON
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Titans and Colts have already secured playoff berths, and this week’s game will not impact their playoff positions. The Titans, who have the NFL’s best record, locked up the AFC South in Week 14 with a victory over Cleveland Browns, winning the team’s first division crown since 2002 and the ninth in the 49-year history of the club. They gained the conference’s first seed and homefield advantage in the playoffs with their win last week over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Colts earned a Wild Card berth and the AFC’s fifth seed with a win last Thursday at Jacksonville, making this the seventh consecutive season and ninth time in 10 years they have entered the postseason. Between the Titans and Colts, the two teams have won every AFC South title since the division’s inception in 2002. The Titans claimed the first championship in the newly-formed division, and then Indianapolis went on a five-year run before the Titans reclaimed the title this season.
