Carney - still no respect
The guy has the best game of his twins career and still could not log more minutes. if he had palyed more he would have had 20 or more as well. i do not understand why theis kid gets no play. it baffles me, just trade him already.

Re: Carney - still no respect
Sorry, why should Carney get more minutes?
He hasn't shown anything right now and had just 1 good game now. He should be playing well in some back-to-back games ....then we can talk about giving him some more time on the floor because he really sucked until Knicks.
U can't demand respect because he has played well in ONE game!!!

He's needed more minutes all year, especially with Brewer out and ESPECIALLY with Gomes playing like crap.

Second, I'll say that Carney isn't a very good basketball player. He has all the physical tools to become one, but I think his chances are pretty slim at this point, with the lack of development he's shown.
Third, I'll point out that MIN didn't extend Carney, so he's a unconditional free agent next season. Its possible we don't want to put minutes (and more losses) into developing guy just to see him use the new skills for someone else. The Wolves said he'd have to play for a contract with the team next season, and Carney publicly said that was fair, but its an indication where his skill-level is.
Fourth, remember, that we didn't make the off-season deal to get Carney -- it was about buying a protected 1st round pick. PHI included cash in the deal (its a little more complicated that this, but ..) that pays for Booth ($1.3) and pays part of Carney's ($1.6) salary, so if they get nothing from Carney, Taylor still bought a 1st rounder for about $1 mil. Pretty good deal for the Wolves, and smart that they appoached PHI before the Sixers did the deal with someone else.
All that said, I'd like to give Carney a chance, but we don't see practices. If we get anything out of Carney though, its gravy .. we already got plenty of value in the deal buying the protected 1st round pick.

I was SCREAMING at McHale to put Carney in for Gomes last night in the late 3rd/early 4th. He gives us a few added dimensions (defense, hustle, athleticism) that we dont get from our other guys.
I think he should be getting a good portion of minutes.
