I've noticed over the past month that Sam has been in uniform but never plays. If the bench is struggling to score, why not put Sam in. It's a waste having him be active if we're never going to play him, and I think he can still put up eight or ten points off the bench.
If House is shooting poorly or we just aren't scoring, I don't see why Doc won't give him a chance. It's like we're wasting two roster spots with Sam and POB because they never play. If they aren't going to play then just call up Giddens and Walker and put Sam and POB on the inactive list.
I would like to see Pruitt get a chance, but if he's not going to get meaningful minutes either, than I don't see why Sam can't be given the chance to come in and score some points with the bench to keep us in games.
Why not Sam?

N-V-da-Green is correct.
We have a winning plan all we need to do is stick to it.

Re: Why not Sam?
been wondering the same thing...when the bench aint producing offensively...throw in Sam. He is gunna chuck a few, but will also stir up the other second unit guys, order them around and get them in the right spots. We have a largely young and inexpierienced bench....they do require on court leadership. I feel sam could do that job on occassion.
Or!!!! My fav idea of the year....Toinne! Instant offence!!!

Re: Why not Sam?
Sam on the floor likely means that House is sitting, so I`m not sure that is going to result in more net offense from the bench.
Pruitt is already a better defender than Sam. He`s also a very good shooter. I expect if Doc put him out there with the instructions to take all the open shots, he`d actually generate a lot of offense. But I believe at this point that Pruitt is working on being more of a PG, so is looking to facilitate more than shoot.
We`re still pretty early in the season, I think Pruitt will get more time on the floor as we go long, and by the time the playoffs roll around, he`ll have solidified his number 3 PG spot.
I believe that Sam will retire and relinquish his spot when the Celtics find an upgrade to backup SF and C. Hopefully both.
I will give cudos to Sam though. I`ve got to think that the continued improvement of Rondo and Pruitt has something to do with Sam being on the team, and talking to these guys all the time.
