Mike Miller is available

Post#1 » by cfan79 » Sun Dec 28, 2008 10:00 am

So if anyone wants to date him send him an email. (Just Kidding)

Seriously though he would be a nice addition to the team. Maybe we could send Eddie House in a package with some young guys if they promise to waive him.

I'd like to see Bill Walker come up from the D-league if a deal went down for Miller. I think they would compliment each other well much like Paul and Ray do.

Why would Mchale give Miller to us? He has never given us anything why would that change now.

And like BadWolf said, we have no assets to get a player like him...

He did give us KG which led to us winning the title. But I do see your point that we did give him some valuable pieces in return. But some might say that a player like Nowitzki or Amare was available. But then again they'd probably be by themself like KG was.

I will always love Kevin Mchale til the day I die for what he did. He really helped the C's as a player and GM.

That is just silly. He didn`t make the trade to help us but to help the wolves. He got a great package for KG and both teams benefited from it. If he can`t draft that is his problem.

:D LOL, actually his drafting hasn't been that bad. Its his draft trades that have been plaquing him, he traded Ray Allen for Marbury, traded Brandon Roy for Foye, traded Mayo for Love.

Yep, and if he wasn't drafting bad or trading bad he was losing picks for Joe Smith. I do like Big Al though, he's a keeper.

Will the Lakers try to get Miller? I'm a big fan of Walton if we could somehow land him as a third team or something crazy I would love it.

Mike Miller ... I dunno. I (literally) bumped into him once in a restaurant in Mitchell, SD, before he was drafted and he was an arrogant dick to me. Maybe he's changed over the years though.

Not sure what that has to do with basketball, but I'd personally not like to see him in Celtics green.

Eh...Miller is a shooter and nothing else. We need size off the bench to replace Davis' ineptitude...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

That story has nothing to do with basketball. I would love see a 6'6" guard who can rebound and shoot on the team. I think he need a back up 5 more though.

He's actually listed at 6 ft 8, but so is Big Baby and we all know that isn't true.

stop the child abuse!!!! Big baby is a top bloke and is what he is.....a second rounder....he has played smoe decent minutes and some crap ones....celtics are about talent primarily...but also chemistry....he is a real chemistry guy

Powe is more skilled at what he does...bang, grapple, dive, take charges, rebound, snarl, grunt, sweat

Baby is getting better at the mid range jumper and has picked up a few key offensive rebounds.

If i had the choice I'd cut or trade neither unless an absoulte fab player was available, we have opther things to dump before these guys...eg scal, cassel, walker....
All time favourite Celtics: Bill, Dave C, LARRY, Kevin, X, Reggie, Alla, Toine and Paul.

Miller's one of the league's best shooters and a player I'm a fan of. No doubt, he could give Boston's bench the perimeter shooting and double digit scoring punch that it sorely lacks consistently. I would be all for Miller's addition via a trade but I believe the chances are very slim and none. Miller has one year remaining which is ideal for Boston; they would boast two of the league's best pure shooters in Ray Allen and Miller. Both will be entering next season with expiring contracts. Perhaps, Ainge can convince them to sign for less or within Boston's desired price range. That is, if Miller were acquired from Minnesota.

Damn. I wanted Miller before he was traded to Minnesota. His contract and skills are ideal for Boston right now. Eduardo Najera is another veteran I would've an interest in from New Jersey. But, his contract is undesirable.

Lowered expectations

Mike Miller, Minnesota. Somebody with the shooting ability of Miller who is playing more than 31 minutes per game should not be averaging below double figures in scoring. Miller has missed several games this season with an ankle injury, but he also hasn’t been aggressively looking for his shot. In a recent three-game stretch he attempted only 18 shots. Never known as a great defender, Miller has the ability to stretch defenses. He is certainly a candidate to be traded and should be able to help a contender.

http://blogs.hoopshype.com/blogs/narduc ... ectations/

Bottom line: Miller, who'll turn twenty-nine in February, makes $9M and $9.7M next season. I tried to come up with a trade scenario on the Trade Checker to no avail. Because Tony and/or House can't be included... Or not in a trade this season without issue. Here are the responses I'd received when I'd attempted to include House in the first trade and Tony Allen in my second attempt.

Players with Trade Restrictions
Eddie House from Boston

House is a one year bird player which means he must agree to the deal for any trade to happen. Further, if House agrees to be traded, his Bird status will be reset and he will be viewed as a non-bird free agent this summer.

Failed Trade Scenario
Sorry, but this trade does not work.

There were BYC players involved in this trade, so this trade is subject to the BYC provisions of the CBA.

Thanks for bringing this back Bonsai. I think Mike Miller would be the perfect guy to bring in. I'm not sure if Mchale would want to do a deal though. Doc Rivers loves the guy and has said in the past that Miller can play on his team anytime.
