odom makes about as much as sjax, warriors are going to need to throw in some filler, and most their filler is bad long term contracts (magz, crawford)

I could actually see the Warriors as one team that could look to keep Odom but yeah if they do want to unload those contracts, I'd stay away. Especially away from Magette's horrible deal.

So, a three way deal of

GSW gets Odom, Farmar

LAL gets S Jackson, A Parker and K Humphries

Tor gets Maggette
Could work.....???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

GSW: Ellis, Crawford, Biedries, Odom, Azubieuke. Bench Farmar, Belleni, Turiaf, Randolph and Wright.

And saving two contracts that are close to 100 million dollars in total term. And saving around 16 million off the cap next year, allowing them to re up Odom if they wanted.

Tor: Calderon, Maggette, ONEal, Bosh, Kapano. Bench. Soloman, Ukic, J Graham, Bargs, Jawai, Voskul, Moon and Adams.
Raps get their wing player that they have been looking for along time.

LAL: Fish, Kobe, Bynum, Gasol, Jackson Bench: Sasha, Ariza, Parker, Humphries, Mihm, Benga, Powell, Vlad, Luke.

Lakers could still go for Ty Lue for Mihm. And they would add a .393 3 pt shooter who works on D in Anthony Parker( also expiring contract at 4.3 million) They would add K Hump who works the offensive glass and who has a nice 10-12 foot jumper and of course the third scorer in S JAckson.

farmar and vlad for stephen jackson works

some have said that vlad is perfect for their system, and jackson wouldn't mind a trade
but i don't know if the warriors go for that, especially with farmar hurt

ID#4887838
vlad and powell for jackson also works, but i like what powell brings to the table

Hmmm interesting... I know what EE will say, but I'm intrigued. This would also allow us to sign Lue or Pargo and still have a roster spot for a guy like Mourning too.

Well, if we're not talking Odom I'm not all against it, actually. There's no denying what he can do on the court and that he's a fierce competitor, good defender etc. I do see him and his temper as a risk to chemistry and in big game clutch situations. I don't trust that his temper won't get the best of him when it matters the most. If it does, it might create a crack in this team's unity and we might have to eventually trade him. Look at his current situation. He's also a lot more of a thug than anyone we have on our team. I doubt his fit with these guys.

Having said that, I'd maybe have to agree to the Radman+Farmar deal, but I'd probably have to ask them for Belinelli in addition. Jackson is a risk to this young team's chemistry, and they know it. In fact, that's why they want to get rid of him, right?

I'll take that risk, but it will have to cost them. Odom? Never, in my opinion. Well, unless they want to include Ellis. I'd love him as our triangle point, or shooting guard with Kobe at the three. I'd give up Odom for Ellis.

Here is what the depth chart in my dream looked like, nothing that couldn't happen.

Pg: Fisher-Pargo-Farmar
Sg:Kobe-Vujacic
Sf:Jackson-Ariza-Radmonovic
Pf:Gasol-Turiaf-Powell
C-Bynum-Mihm-Mbenga

Hinrich 10 mill, 9.5, 9.0, 8.0
Gooden 7.1 expiring
Safaolsa 1.9, 2.7, 3.8 qualifying

for

Odom 11.4 expiring
Walton 4.4, 4.8, 5.2, 5.6, 6.1

Salary wise Walton and Hinrich are with in 10 million but the Lakers' need a PG and W/ Gooden they get a solid back up at PF and they get a decent role player in Safolosa.

Chicago gets out under the Hinrich deal and adds Odom who would fit in very nice in Chicago w/ a chance to resign him. And with Walton they get a decent back up at SF who they take on as a salary condition of the Hinrich deal which is equally as bad. Of course mainly because they have D Rose.

Rose, Gordon, Gray, Odom, Deng. Bench: Hughes, Nocioni, T Thomas, Noah, Walton, Simmons.

Fish, Kobe, Bynum, Gasol, Ariza. Bench: Hinrich, Farmar, Safolosha, Sasha, Gooden, Benga, Mihm, Vlad, Powell, Yue.

Lakers add Gooden to back up and they also get Hinrich who has a nice Jumper from 15 to 18 feet which this team seems to lack. And I think they get a lot of depth on the bench w/ the abilty to make a trade to refine it somewhat. Safolosha would be nice to keep if Ariza went elsewhere and you might be able to get a backup when Gooden goes next year.

After watching tonight's game, I'm pretty damn sure I wouldn't want Jackson here under any circumstances. Kobe baited him, he picked up some cheap fouls, had to sit down, lost his temper, got T'd up and handed in the game by writing it off as being unfairly reffed against him. True championship mentality. Good leadership. I take back what I said about trading Radman and Farmar for him and Belinelli. Personally, I dont' want Jackson, period. Next.

might as well make it jefferson/bell/lue for odom/farmar/mihm/ariza cause those players aren't going to be able to be resigned after taking on all that salary. lakers pass.

I somewhat like that roster, exept that Jackson would null the need for Radman so I think Walton would stay. I also think that it is a slight downgrade to our center/PF rotation without Odom, but I like Ronnie back.

I don't think that Jackson does that every game. I think things like that happen to every player. so I would watch him more closely before dismissing him.

and maybe Jackson would change his ways upon changing teams, i can't imagine he did that kind of thing when he was with the spurs

maybe kobe/phil/contending could keep him in line

I think a lot of Jackson's actions are from the losing part of the game after Baron left and the Warriors lost their leader. He is an emotional guy who lets it show and he loves to win. I think a player who plays that hard and wants to win so bad is perfect for the Lakers. He don't mind playing tough and getting in peoples faces--taking a charge, defending Dirk or Kobe, he don't mind taking a big shot or giving a hard foul. He is just a player that does anything to win.

I think his attitude would be just what the Lakers' ordered--somebody w/ a little bit of an edge.

The Knicks are looking for a shooter every since Mobley went down--how about Vlad for Malik Rose. They get their shooter and we get an expiring contract next season at 7.1 million.

It seems the Lakers' got monies tied up in both Luke and Vlad that are hampering them from adding someone else into the mix. Maybe a move like this one could free up an Odom trade for a Wallace or S Jackson. Malik might never play but it appears Vlad won't either so at least they save the money for something else.

Yeah probably not but I want a trade, I love a new player on the roster to route for--especially when the team could lose someone I'm not that big a fan of like Luke or Vlad. I like Odom but he needs to start at PF somewhere. I would rather have a starter at SF like a Wallace or S Jackson that can offer so much more on the scoring and Free throw end.

I'm not to confident in a long series that Ariza, Luke or Odom can knock down the outside shots needed. And the other side of it, is the fact they can't get to the free throw line because they don't have the game to dribble and drive it to the hoop. The Vlad problem is his IQ, he is very fine shooter but his passing is terrible--low attention span I guess. And Vlad going to the hole needs really poor defense.

For 2010 the Knicks got Curry and J Jefferies w/ player options that total 18 million and Chandler and Gallinari w/ team options that are at 5 million. So they got lots of space, Lee and Nate have qualifying offers next year but they got a ton of room for 2k10. And I expect Curry to be gone this year at some point. The certainly are clearing the decks.

you can never have enough room for 2010, it will take a lot of space to accommodate Lebron, Wade and Bosh

and i am opposed to the idea of making a trade, just for the sake of making a trade

Just reading Marco Jaric wants to be traded if he is not going to play w/ Memphis. Isn't it worth a shot to add him over Vlad or Luke at this point. At least he could come in a be another ball handler--he is 6-7 and has a career 3pt% of .342. Where as I don't see either Vlad or Luke playing at all.

Jaric has 3 years left w/ 6.5 this year and 7.1 and 7.6 left which will be the 2010 year for big free agents. Vlad has three years at 6.0, 6.4 and 6.8 with the last being a player opt that he will pick up for sure. Memphis would save a little salary but might be able to get Vlad more playing time who knows.

Not a big deal or move but at least we could use Jaric's ball handling in some situations.
