RealGM: Memphis may trade Mike Miller

K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune believes that the Grizzlies could be making forward Mike Miller available.

Johnson believes that Memphis would trade Miller for the right price, which could make their roster even younger.

I hope they don't trade him, because we could use him here.

BTW, can RealGM treat our club with any less respect for the last three years?

At first I thought it was an old article..

Espn is probably safe from Calinks for the rest of the night.

I also could've gone with:

"I was wondering why Mike Miller hadn't shown up yet this season, he never left Memphis"

but Mike seems like a nice guy and I'd never insult him like that

Al Harrington the basketball player, or Al Harrington the President and CEO of Al Harrington's Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man Emporium and Warehouse?

Shawne Williams
Jason Terry

For

Mike Miller
Future Second Round Pick (Miami's 08 pick or Houston's 2010 pick)

The money works on the trade checker. It really depends on how much you would like to have a scorer like Jason at the 1 or 2. Jason does have three years left on his contract.

This isn't bad news. If MEM trades Miller, I think we should see what we can get back for Kevin Garnett.

What would the Wolves need to add to Miller to get Howard?

Dallas needs draft picks.

Josh Howard

for

Mike Miller
Future Miami first round pick

Or to extend the trade:

Josh Howard
DeSagana Diop

for

Mike Miller
Brian Cardinal
Future Miami first round pick
Second round pick or the first round pick from Boston (keeps you from a guarantee contract)

Here is what is due to Minnesota.

• Minnesota receives Boston's 2009 1st round draft pick, top 3 protected, as part of Kevin Garnett trade.
• Minnesota owns Miami's first round pick, top 14 protected in 2008, top 10 protected in 2009, top 6 protected in 2010, and unprotected after that.
• Minnesota owns Miami's 2008 2nd round draft pick, via Boston (Antoine Walker trade)
• Minnesota receives Houston's 2010 second round pick, in exchange for Gerald Green.
• Minnesota, via Philadelphia, receives a first round pick from Utah, as part of the Kyle Korver trade. Pick is protected 1 through 22 in 2009, 1 through 15 in 2010, 1 through 17 in 2011, 1 through 16 in 2012 and 1 through 16 in 2013. (Ross Siler, Salt Lake Tribune)

Ha if you only knew how much Diop was talked about on this board last season. I would probably do either deal, but would prefer the first due to the length of Diops contract.

Favors Dallas due to Diop's contract and the extra draft pick. It's the one that would need to happen between the two.

That's fine by me. However, most Wolves fans like cap space more than I do.

Howard is as old as Miller, Miller is a better fit and a better character. No thanks to adding value to him to turn him into Josh Howard.

No way Dallas trades a talent like Josh Howard to get back role players

I'm with deeney.

I'd also point out to visitors that the article in the Chicago paper doesn't even say that the Wolves want to trade Miller -- it just says that CHI could use him, like many teams could. I haven't heard anything locally about the Wolves looking to trade Miller -- in fact, they have marketed the local guy to the community since the traded for him.

Well I hope the Wolves don't trade for Mike Miller! Stay with the Grizzlies, Mike!

I'd be hesitant to add the Miami pick, but Howard is a much better player both offensively and defensively. I'd much rather have Howard who is close to the #2 scorer we need.

Not me. Adding an expensive vet to this group is a mistake. We're years away from REALLY competeing, and Josh Howard certainly won't make us contenders. Adding a vet like him is a waste of his career and a waste of cap space imo. By the time we're ready to really make a push he'd be in his 30's and on some other team.

People seems to forget we're in the 2nd year of rebuilding. It's gonna take awhile, folks.
