Carter for IGUODALA Blockbuster

Post#1 » by ecuhus1981 » Wed Dec 24, 2008 7:00 pm

I have created a blockbuster four-team proposal, where the Nets Incoming/Outgoing sections looks like this:

Carter, Simmons and Boone for Iguodala, Hughes and Ridnour

The vote is on whether or not you would do the deal on behalf of the Nets. As I always ask, please be thorough with your responses, and remember that these deals aren't written in stone. If the deal needs a bit of sweetener or a minor filler player is not to your liking, it can probably be tweaked.

The full 4-way deal may be seen on the Trades and Transactions board here:

KotB: CHI-MIL-NJN-PHI

(By the way, if you think the deal is fair and doable for all teams, please vote "yes" in the linked thread. Thanks.)

I've been looking at a way to swap Carter for Iguodala as well. I suggested a few changes in the thread on the trade board.

How does this benefit the Nets?

I don't think Philly is that desperate, but I think it's a deal you'd have to make. IMO Iggy >> Deng. Iggy is 7 years younger than Vince, $5 million cheaper in 2010/11 and is quite likely to be the better player at that point.

I'm sticking with Vince right now...looks like Iggy took a step back so far this year w/ Brand coming in...looking at this from the long term picture it is difficult to pass up, but I dunno if Thorn would be willing to break up the dynamic duo...I do agree w/ jeff as of now...he looks confused and hesitant, we need a team player who is comfortable with the amount of shots Devin will take and make...

That's why I think Iguodala would work well for us. His greatest assets other than elite athleticism are defense and court vision. That would make him an excellent complementary piece to a scoring PG like Devin. That's actually what Andre needs in order to operate at his best. Also, I think that Stefaneski underestimated how much a traditional low-post scorer like Brand would negatively impact Iggy. It slows down the offense, magnifying Andre's flaws, specifically long-range shooting and half-court ball-handling. With our system and our rangy bigman scorers, he wouldn't have that problem.

I DON'T WANT TO JINX ANYTHING, but could you imagine a Harris-Iguodala-(2010 free agent) perimeter, with Yi and Brook in the middle?! AWESOME BABY!

Iggy isn't a 2010 FA and he is way overpaid.

No, you don't understand. The 2010 free agent is a SF who I have not named because I don't want to jinx it.

Hint: J E B R N O L A M S E

Harris and Iguodala would fit excellently alongside the SF whose name is lazily jumbled above. Plenty of other FAs will be available at that time, too, so it's not as though we'd be putting all our eggs in LeTravalier's basket. Oh, I've already said too much...

P.S. I don't think Andre will have a problem "earning his paycheck" in our offense.

I am a Raptors fan... and I would love to have Vince back... outside of Bosh\Calderon\Oneal..

what kind of package of players do you think it would take for us to get him back?

Bargnani \ Kapono \ Humphries ... or something like that?

It's probably far fetched but ... considering we practically gave him to you, it ain't that bad.

Zo never reported... Eric and Aaron Williams??? are you **** kiddin me...

That was probably the worst trade in NBA history, we had one of the largest trading chips at the time... and we traded it for peanuts.

It almost feels like we traded Vince for a couple towel boys and some new mesh for the hoops.

What would you guys want in return for Vince back though... it won't be bosh or calderon... I suppose O'neal might be attainable (hes playing really well right now) ... but is there anything outside of those 3??

James Harden.

Miss the playoffs, get a top 7 pick, draft James Harden, trade him to us for Vince Carter.
Do it.
Now.
Go.
