The Rules

Here's the deal - after each win, we'll have a player of the game thread. You post the top 3 performers (1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place). The top-3 vote-getters will receive points...

1st place = 3pts
2nd place = 2pts
3rd place = 1pt

At the end of the season, I'll tally up the point totals and put it into a thread. We should have a good idea of who was the most valuable player, at least according to Wizards fans. :D

The poll winner is for posterity only. It has no affect on the recorded winner. If you want your vote to count, post the top-3 performers.

jamison did let his man go 7-8 and he scored 16pts amost 7pts above his average. jamison went did go significantly above his field goal average this game and scored 10pts above his average to make up for the points he gave. Even though jamison score 30pts..he actually only scored 7 less points since he gave up 7 extra points on defense to scola. 23pts doesn't look as good as 30 pts. while blatche scored 6 pts more than what his score says. He Yao 6pts below his average. If we give blatche 6pts..its boost his scoring to 22pts..one pt less than jamison.
Jamison did play very well on offense to make up for his poor defense. He got to line to boost his field goal percentage 11/23 or 22/46 and with his free throws..its goes to 30/54 shoots him to overall .55 percent field goal percentagel...which was 4 pts above what blatche's overall field goal percentage of this game was at .51percent. I don't think shooting overall .55 percent is that great a feat especially since he took 22 shots..more than anyone on the team and he let Scola score 6pts above .Jamison basically played his role as offensive speicalist just dmac played defensive specialist. Fans seem to not appreciate when a player holds his man below his average because it takes to much thinking but if yao was allowed to score his average of 20 pts a game..instead of 14..this game would have been lost for sure. If Jamison had held scola to below his average of 10 pts...all jamison could have cut his scoring down to 23 instread of 30 and would have had the same overall effect. But we don't see this side because stat geeks can't calculate these numbers efficiently.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

1- AB - if it wasn't for the job he did on Yao, we wouldn't have won.
2 -AJ - He was a warrior
3- DMAC - Young man is making the most of his time on the floor

Honorable mentions

Tapps - again. He is doing a great job coaching and line these guys up

DeShawn - 2 games in a row he hasn't shot much but he nailed a very high pressure late shot that helped us win. Had he hit 2-2 FT instead of 1-2 that would have been totally awesome. As it was it was just awesome. Thanks DS. For all we bash you, you're earning some respect back.

Oh, and after the made shot - NO HAND TO FACE. This is a great sign. I hope that gesture has been mothballed.

Ditto. Also worth nothing that Jamison played great D down the stretch. He had 2 blocks and a few defensive boards.

1. Jamison - after a poor start, he carried our offense in the second half with some clutch play. Also, despite letting Scola score a little too much, he did play good help D on Yao

2. Blatche - nice all around game. What impressed me the most was his solid postioning on Yao and the fact that he didn't pick up a ton of cheap fouls.

3. DMac - don't care if he shoots, what I really like about his offense is his passing ability. Its nice to finally have a glue guy who can keep the ball moving rather than another guy looking to get his own shot (i.e. the entire EJ era).

Honorable mention - Young

1 - Jamison - tremendous ALL-AROUND game. The caps are for WD.

2 - Blatche - I'm surprised he had the worst +/- on the team - with Etan having the best, but whenever you keep Yao under control and contribute in other areas - especially with 5 assists and working real well with Jamison - you deserve recognition - especially after I brutalized him for his pathetic effort against the Bobs 2 games earlier. Keep it up, 'proof.

3. DMac - Showing he knows his role - which is what made Stevenson effective in the past. Unselfishness gets rewarded.
