Big Monday- UConn vs. Georgetown

Post#1 » by Grang33r » Mon Dec 29, 2008 7:25 pm

Tonight at 7pm on ESPN2. Anybody going to watch these 2 Big East powers go at it? Should be a pretty good game and a good test for Thabeet to see what his draft status could be. Georgetown is a very good team. Predictions? Thoughts?

Also Davidson @ Charleston at 9pm on ESPNU should be a great game as well.

Greg Monroe playing himself into the top 3 of the NBA Draft. UConn has no flow whatsoever offensively. Georgetown just sent quite the message to UConn. "We still run the Big East despite all the UConn preseason hype."
Jerry Reinsdorf; the undisputed king of allowing his GM's to run amok with unchecked power and ego. :king:

Thabeet was garbage tonight. I honestly don't see what people see in him. He's just the next player in UConn's history of big men busts imo. Hilton Armstrong, Villanueva and Boone. Even Okafor isn't what he was supposed to be.

Thabeet has been the most overrated player since he came into the Big East. His production and impact are minuscule compared to the hype and praise he gets.

He had an awful day, but look at how many possessions he actually got the ball. Defensively he is a freak/game changer with his shot blocking. However, when guys like Wright hit ridiculously high arcing shots against him or put it up on the glass, they were able to coralle offensive rebounds. This is because Thabeet's defensive gamble hurts UConn on the glass.

It was more than Thabeet who lost them that game. AJ Price failed to show up and their role players didn't come to play. Kemba Walker made some serious freshman mistakes. It was just a bad day all around.
