No, that's not true at all---if you have a dominating low post presence then you let them take the shot, Yao.....hes none of the above, and I still don't understand the hype of how 25-40% of the general consensus considers him the best center in the league.
They are basing best Center on skill set. Yao has the skill set, but mentality weak. His biggest issue is wanting to dominate, not if he can. However DH is the best center in the league for the 1st half, because of his numbers and his defensive presence in the paint. After the injury, he has looked average.
In the month of Dec (except yesterdays game), when he was aggressive, that is the Yao everybody wants to see, if brought that A game every game, there would no question on who is the best center in the league.
In those games, you had teams double/triple team him, it didn't matter, he scored, passed it well and most of all created contact and went to the FT line alot.
Yesterday, he played like ****.
