I'm shocked right now. Tarik Glenn is one of the premier left tackles in the game, and this is a huge blow to the o-line. I can't really fault him though, Tarik won a super bowl...and may want to do other things with his life.
Hopefully, guys like Charlie Johnson and Tony Ugoh can rise to the occasion. I'm sure Peyton isn't happy though.

I am really sad right now. There wasn't any signs that he was going to leave. I think though that the front office saw this coming so that is why they drafted Ugoh. Who do you think will replace Gleen. Put Diem at LT and Johnson at RT or Ugoh at RT? Or put Johnson or Ugoh at LT and Diem at RT. Before there wasn't any holes in the Colts offense, now there is one. I wonder how it will be filled.

This sucks. pretty bad timing too. if he wanted to do this, he prolly could have done it sooner rather than now.

Yeah, like in April so they could have looked more for left tackles than guards in the draft.

I'm sure we could convince to come back t/y w/ a raise in pay and some begging from Peyton and Polian... Just one more season, and we won't even make him drop the extra 10-15 he picks up every off-season.

Say it ain't so, Tarik...

I think the Colts will give Tarik some extra time to think this one through before making it offical...their website has yet to mention anything. Doesn't look good though.

I was reading the Tarik Glenn thread that was on the Pacers board, and some of them said that they were glad Tarik was retiring. I think that they are way wrong... If Tarik really is retiring( I really hope he isn't) then then the question is: Do you want to start Ugoh or Johnson? I think right now Johnson. Ugoh is more talented, but I have read reports that said he wouldn't be ready for a year or two.

Johnson would probably be the short-term fill-in. He's much more ready than Ugoh right now. Ugoh is probably still a year or two away. Although he has a higher ceiling than Johnson, he's still a bit of a project at this point who needs polishing.

Well, it's official, Tarik Glenn has officially retired. Articles are finally up on Colts.com. It's kind of a shame that Colt fans didn't get to prepare for his departure, but I'm sure he'll get a well deserved standing ovation eventually. It won't be easy, but this team just has to move on.

Best of luck to Tarik...he was a big key to our success and will be missed......

Can we lock this now? It'll only make me more depressed the more I see this thread at the top...
