January 5th is the day that NBA teams can offer players 10-day contracts. Is there anyone you want to see the wolves call up? Let's discuss possible candidates in this topic.
As I have been saying for weeks now, I really want us to take a look at Courtney Sims.

I think as well as he has been playing he warrants a look. He's a legit C with his size and he seems to have some decent defensive capabilities. He's averaging 13 RPG and 3.5 BPG. I don't know how much less he could bring to the table than either Collins or Booth. Even if he could only manage to average somewhere in the neighborhood of 8 points, 8 rebounds, and a block per game he would be a big help. In D-League he has been unstoppable offensively.

he's been owning the NBDL
he'll probably own the personal fouls per minute stat in the NBA, but I'd still give him a chance

I like Sims, but since we're running with a full 15-man roster, we'll have to clear a space for a call-up, and it wouldn't be cheap.
We have no unguaranteed contracts on our roster, and we don't even have any second rounders. Our cheapest players (Ollie, Carney, Telfair, Craig Smith) are all useful players. That leaves only one player who's making less than $2.5 mil, and that's Calvin Booth ($1.3 mil). However, PHI is paying 100% of that contract, so Taylor would just be tossing his free player. It might be worth it to have a look .. I'm just saying that's not easy to say we'd have to buy out a guy that is making $0 if we do nothing.
As always, I'd prefer trade. Several of our players could probably warrant someone's TPE. Perhaps we could look at a 2-for-1 trade as well. If we were able to put together a deal for a big player like a Gerald Wallace, we'd probably need to combine contracts, and that could open a spot as well.
