Who really would blame him for wanting to go to NY or Canada for his last contract? He stated twice that Phoenix is his obvious choice. Dont be selfish and demand exclusivity from a foreign born MVP that wants to play where he wants to live after retirement.

In fact, the last few trade scenarios Ive done with Nash, the only two destinations I move him two are Toronto and NY.

He said nothing alarming at all.

That's the whole point, why cant Nash keep where he wants to play to himself until the summer of 2010? At least Amare never said, "Oh I want to look into playing for this team in 2010", maybe it's Nash that needs to go and not Amare.

Here is a question for you. Why should he have to keep it to himself? Freedom of speech. He can say what he feels like. It's not like he said the Suns suck, I'm extremely unhappy, trade me. He's not pulling a Vince Carter / Allen Iverson here, so let the guy be.

He's still under contract with the Suns though, he should at least have enough sense to say, "I'm still under contract with the Suns and when 2010 comes I'll see how everything plays out", it would actually be better if he pulled a Carter or Iverson and just asked for a trade because than at least Suns management can get the whole situation taken care of instead of trying to play mind games. It's no wonder the guy is way down 7th or 8th in all-star voting behind Kidd, people are seeing Nash for his true colors.

Man, there are some lame posts on here. I swear there is a bunch of little girls who are getting their feelings hurt by these comments. He said Phx is his first choice.

As others have said, I am a suns fan before a nash fan. He is my favorite player on this team, but there are two sides of this. And one side of this is a business decision and I think Nash knows he is done in Phx after this year into 2010. He sees what Porter brings and what Kerr wants. I think he does not want to be apart of it and will not retire a sun.

Please, no BD. That guy is washed up and always hurt. Let this team build on what they have right now. Nash is not washed up at all, but he is not his MVP caliber type anymore. He still is a top 10 PG in what he does.

I swear, you haters are a bunch of cry babies. Waaaa, trade nash, Im done with him blaa, blaa, blaa. This team and organization has more problems then nash saying he would not mind going to NY or Toronto.

That was lame MaryvalesFinest. The whole all-star voting is a bunch of BS anyways. There are players that should be starting or get into the game but do not because it is a popularity contest. Fans are idiots who only vote for their team/players. It is not what is suppose to be by the numbers and what they really do on the court. also, other young PGs that are in the west are up and comming or better. As of now, in the west, there are 3 PGs that are better then him.

Just a bad take man.

Thank you. That's what I have been saying. Non issue, as long as the guys in the locker room don't care than it really shouldn't matter to us. Somebody actually referred to Nash as a locker room cancer. Are you freakin kidding me? Marbury...Locker room cancer, Marion.....Maybe locker room cancer, Old Kobe........Locker room cancer, steve Nash in no way is a locker room cancer.
So thanks for summing it all up eastside

JohnVancouver was kind enough to post the video interview. Very nice interview by the way, it talks about more than just basketball and his free agency. You all check it out.

Nash won two MVPs and brought a lot of notoriety and joy to Phoenix fans.

As a fan of another team I think anybody slamming Nash that's a Phoenix fan has no room to question his loyalty. Y'all have none to him.

I think Kerr changed the team to where Nash isn't nearly effective as he was under D'Antoni. I think lots of other PGs could suit Kerr and Porter's offense built around Shaq better. So, for all parties the best would be for Nash to move on.

Nash is a winner on an off the court and IMO he was straight up honest in mentioning Phoenix, New York, or Toronto being choces for him.

I doubt very seriously he's about the money, however. I think if the Knicks get Lebron or Amare and D'Antoni is still the coach, Nash would take the minimum just to be a part of that. Even if he's a reserve by that point of his career. Cassell got his ring that way. So should Nash.

I don't get the Nash hate at all. Trade talk I get. Hate I don't.

We all know that he is good as gone, so why don't we get some value for him? Baron Davis would be a dream, but I doubt that the Clippers would do that trade unless we include Amare and we get Marcus Camby back..

In the past I would Steve Nash a pass but his comments of late are starting to ware off on me. I'm a Suns fan before I'm a Steve Nash fan!!

If we all know that he's good as gone, then who cares if he says he's looking to explore all options? We all know he will be! He's only saying the obvious. You people being bothered by Nash stating the obvious are ridiculous.

--- I posted a link to the video invu a few days ago (Nash/NBC) and the press is blowing it all out of proportion (which is what news agencies do, sadly.) Nash says, in response to a question, that he doesn't know for sure what will happen down the road but if he doesn't stay here, for whatever reason, NY and TO are both interesting to him.
To read the press interpretations of this it's sky-is-falling time and he's picking where he wants to go asap. That just ain't it.
This what anyone can expect if they answer a media question honestly and in good faith.

interested parties should really watch the invu before making any judgment.

How quickly some people forget...Completely agree with ESC, scoot and Choc City.

Nash is a realist, he's not some schmuck who can't string a sentence together - and he was clearly stating the obvious 3 teams due to their even more obvious attractions

Guys I just went to the Spurs board and saw a thread where Parker said he wanted to vacation in Paris in the Spring with Eva and they are drafting up trade scenarios. Maybe we can get Parker as a backup now.

Nash has essentially given the Gms of TOR + NY the green light to contact "Hey Kerr-Laid' with realistic trades. RSarver is now off the hook from a public lynching if/when he deals Nash as he will reply, ' We were merely accomadating Steve's wishes'.

NY should make a play for him JUST to entice LaBron while TOR should to keep Bosh.

Lets just hope nobody calls any bluffs and we get to finish the season out before this happens. But I really think he is as good as gone. This may be a brilliant strategic move by Nash to expedite his departure. he may SAY phnx is his #1 choice....because he pretty much HAS to.

My question is....can Nash's contract be renegotiated before he is dealt ?
Right now, I think he is a $13 million team option for 09/10. Can he be reset at , say 6, 7, 8 mill for 3yrs then dealt for a $ 6 million man ?
