Its very obvious time is catching up with your team.
Peps predictated this to happen last year and it didnt but it is now catching up to you guys.
Your bench cant produce and your big three is taking on too much p.t and the effects are very obvious by Doc willing to reduce K.Gs minutes.
The way I see it is that your team is starting to deterate slowly and like I said its only a matter of one injury away to one of your big three before the Cs become a decent team, and we are witnessing it slowly.

True, true.
But seriously Kefa, the competition has gotten a lot better and stronger since last year, hasnt it?
You can clearly see that this isnt the same team as the one last year.
Sorry to say this but it is becoming very obvious by the Ray Allens shooting, K.G looking beat and tired and P.P is just lost out there, and honestly when your bench lost Posey and P.J it really didnt help your team at all, but hey that was last year and this is a new year. AGAIN........

I know brah, and good teams will heal quick and regroup, and when that time comes you find the true players that have heart and willing to lay it on the line and pickup the slack for others.
I dont think there is a problem in bean town as of this moment but you guys do need to start looking at your bench and see where there is room for improvement before the season gets out of control and specailly before you end up in the playoffs.

Time? This has nothing to do with time- our starters are playing fine for the most part. The reason we're playing so poorly is the bench- we have a bunch of inconsistent players out there in Allen, Powe, and Davis, and our front court is too small to match up with the big centers around the league.
With the loss of P.J. up front and Posey on the wings are bench was expected to be weaker- and it is- but I don't see what that has to do with the Big Three aging as you seem to be saying.
TonyMontana wrote:[You can clearly see that this isnt the same team as the one last year.
I can? Their defense is still good, and their offense at times has looked even better than last year. The bench has been inconsistent- but it was the same way throughout different points last season as well.

Ray Allen has been shooting great the entire season- he's had some off games against the Blazers and your Lakers but still, I don't think Allen's shooting (which has been far better than last year thus far) indicates that the Celtics team is worse. And Pierce has started shooting better lately; he was around the high 30% mark earlier in the season and is at 42% right now. Garnett's been playing well too.
It really seems like your making something out of nothing. Have the Celtics been going through a mini-slump? Absolutely, just like they did last year following All-Star break, and just as all teams do.
Has the competition gone better? Yeah especially with the emergence of the Cavs and Magic in the East.
But, for the most part, I've seen nothing to indicate that this team is an entirely different team than last year and that our age has caught up to us.
Damn

Re: Did the Lakers shatter the Celtics swag?
^^^^^^ Im not making something out of nothing Im only addressing the obvious issues and if you did read my post you would see that I did state that this isnt a big problem if your bench improves via trades/signing etc.
Its a problem that needs to be addressed and that IS YOUR BENCH, and you cant admit that Doc doesnt see it as a problem since he has addressed K.G p.t to be reduced.
Now if your bench isnt producing and your put a lot of pressure on your big three which arent really a bunch of young guns anymore then it will take a tool on them physically, maybe not now but it will as the season goes on or even in the playoffs.

Re: Did the Lakers shatter the Celtics swag?
Sam Cassel and PJ Brown weren't apart of the BOS bench last year untill the playoffs. (sam slightly earlier)
Right now we're actually playing our bench more then last year when it's just them without one of the BIG 3 whereas last year our bench was just Eddie House and Posey plus one or two small roles for some players (Powe,Baby,TA) along with Pierce or Ray.
We've gone back to having bench + Pierce or Ray.
As of now Pierce and Ray have about 36 mpg
And KG is running at 33 mpg
That's the exact same minutes as last year. The only diffrence is this year we are winning more and the opposing teams are getting up to face the Celtics. With the Cavs,Lakers, and POR we actually have a few teams that really, REALLY, want to beat the Celtics.

The Celtics coaching staff and trainers should check to make sure the players aren't coating their palms with baby oil before the game. Because they can't hold onto the ball to save their lives.

It's the nature of a long season to go through ups and downs. The good teams have more ups than downs. The historically great teams have longer stretches of dominance (which the celtics have displayed the ability to do), and also have the fortune of good luck (health, clutch shots, etc)

It's also worth noting, that, the Lakers have a deep enough roster, where, if they were to suffer an injury to a key player, they can still be a dominate team. The Celtics simply don't have that luxury.

I think KG needs to stop imitating LeBron with those stupid baby powder crap.. he couldn't hold the ball to save his life. Leave the baby powder to big baby davis!

KG's coaches have been trying to limit his minutes for years and years now. It goes back to Flip in Minnesota, so I don't think that really shows anything.

I hear ya. It pisses me off to see MJ copying LeBron by having wore #23 his whole career too. And George Mikan copying LeBron by having played basketball.

KG has been doing the rosin thing for YEARS - if anything, he's the one being copied. And, no, I don't think LA shut down the C's swagger. It was a more important game for the Lakers than the C's.

Which is a dumb argument and pretty much a cop out. If you watched the game the Celtics wanted to win just as much as the Lakers. And you could see the frustration on Boston's faces during the 4th quarter when they completely fell apart.
The game was of equal importance in the sense both teams are fighting for home court advantage at the moment. To claim otherwise is just a weak excuse to deflect the fact that Boston was outplayed and beaten at their own pace.

So the Celtics didn't go as hard to the basket, didn't have the same intensity, didn't care as much, didn't try as hard as the Lakers did.
Sad......
