Wally is a salary dump, and that's exactly why he is a very valuable trading piece for teams that need to clear space and/or rebuild. Wally's salary is near 14 million dollars, so he could really net the cavs a good player if they find the right partner. Snow is essentially the same thing, because he is retiring/retired and i believe his salary is near 7 million dollars. The cavs don't have much reason to trade Hickson and this point. He isn't worth much because he really hasn't proven anything. If anything, he's more valuable to them than anyone else because he can develop into something special. I don't see them including gibson in a package for anything less than a superstar player.
Who is giving up a $14 mill STUD....just to make him go away? Whoever wants Wally STILL has to pay the rest of this season....about a $9 mill disposal fee. So.....what $14 mill guy is so unwelcome someone pays $9 mill to DUMP him? How good is that guy? MAYBE you could try for Kirilenko....BIG contract....11 a game score but when in the mood his versatility is nice.
Gibson in a package for a superstar....yeah.....Gibson and Wally ought to get ya your choice of All Stars.....

Good luck on that.....
"Can develop into something special..." uh....perhaps..which is why Hickson is really one of just a few trade chips of any worth. He's what makes Snow a trade chip..for example. Snow along gets you a guy someone thinks is a BAD CONTRACT...has no value. Even then..Hickson is a low #1 pick project.
Sasha....etc.....bfd.....you get back a comparable bench guy more or less.
it's not so much finding a player that is unwelcome, it's finding a team that has a star player that they'd be better off trading when it comes to building for the future. there are plenty of players like that, and they've all been mentioned on this board one time or another. Wallace, Salmons, possible even Carter to name a few.
i never said gibson would net the cavs a superstar, but he won't be included in a trade for someone who isn't truly going to put the cavs over the top. He means too much for their future, and he is a big part of the present as well. He plays well with lebron so, like i said, they won't trade him for just anyone.
Hickson isn't of worth to other teams at this point, because he hasn't proven anything. He holds about the same value as any other mid/late first round pick, which isn't all that much. the cavs would be better off holding onto him if possible because if he does turn into something special, they'd hate to have traded him and he won't be a deal-breaker or deal-maker at this point.
Snow doesn't necessarily have to only net the cavs a "bad contract". He could net someone who maybe just isn't in the right system, someone who isn't happy where he is, someone the cavs would be renting for the rest of the year, someone who just wants to be part of a contender, or a number of other situations.
