Re: Cavs/Philly trade
I don't like any trades that involve first round picks after the 2010 season. I'm not scared of #23 leaving so much, but it's good to have an insurance policy on the possibility. We atleast have a chance of getting another young player to build around. Also even if he stays here, by then we are going to need these picks to add some youth to the roster.

I would do that trade in a heartbeat. Wally can shoot and space the floor for us. We got Speights who can play Sam's role and Brand when he comes back

i don't think Sam fills in the cavs needs very well compared to what they could get for wally. Other than that it's a semi-fair trade

This deal is in no way a deal we should make. This is a Jim Paxson-esque deal.

NO.. Dally's value is not this high. In Fact, I wouldn't trade Wally and our 2009 first for him.

Yep, only Paxson would do that type of deal.

Re: Cavs/Philly trade
Well, Sammy has definitely lost a lot of Value since Elton has arrived in Philly... But to assume that he suddenly became less of a player overnight is ridiculous. His value is down...but it isn't down that much.
Perhaps 2 firsts may be a little steep... I'll go that far, but a 1st and a second is a definite bargain for the Cavaliers... as he secures their Center position for the next 6 years. The only way the trade wouldn't be considered by the Cavaliers, is if they in-fact plan on Anderson being their center... which may be a high possibility, considering their draft last year... when they had ample opportunity to get a few centers in either round, but declined on all except Sasha Kaun in the later part of the 2nd round.
If they do view Andy as their future Center, then Hickson is the PF, and Jackson is the #3... which definitely would support my personal belief that the Cavaliers #1 target is Gerald Wallace.

Re: Cavs/Philly trade
I think Philly has made Daly available for weeks now with no takers. The guy's basketball IQ equals that of Drew Gooden but at least Gooden can hit a jumpshot. I know Brand is injured but you know it's bad when creaky old Theo Ratliff is getting some of his minutes. When Daly's athleticism goes everyone will see he is no basketball player.

He didn't- he traded 2009 and 2011 picks.

heath- I know you already know this but since not many of the others do I'll reiterate it here.
On another forum, Heath suggested
Philadelphia gets: Jackson, Sasha, Snow, 1st & 2nd round (via Chicago) picks
Cleveland gets: Dalembert
Two insiders with the Cavs FO had this to say:
Jackson has shown the Cavs a lot already. With some more development he will be able to put up those types of numbers when Z retires.
Even if he could, Ferry wouldn't take Dalembert for the 1st & 2nd round picks alone.
Chances of happening: 0%
He is lazy and an underachiever. He got kicked off of the Candaian National Team this summer because of poor work ethic....YES, THE CANADIAN NATIONAL TEAM! Could it change if he came here? Maybe. Is it worth the risk of taking on that mega-contract and giving up a first rounder? Hell no.
The games I've watched this year his defense has been sub-par too. He'll occasionally swat one in the seats, but he looks utterly lost at times....Drew-esque. His Opponent's PER is 15.7 which is the highest of any 76er who has played over 25% of the minutes.(By the way Lebron's Opp PER is 11.9, Z 11.9, and Wallace 13.0 ).
Trading for Dalembert is a gamble....an expensive gamble. There is no way I give up anything of value, especially picks. The Cavs aren't in a position where they need to gamble. We are winning 83% of our games. We have tradable assets and all of our picks. We also have quality players out there that are starting to tell their agents "get me to Cleveland." Ferry can be picky now and deal from a position of strength. We will have better options than Dalembert.
and
Exactly. The chances of Heath's deal happening are pretty much zero, since the 76ers have had him out on the market tryiing to peddle him, and haven't even asked for that much in over a month, and still haven't had a taker. He has close to negative value on the market when you factor in the contract.
Heath- stop proposing the same things to people with less knowledge of the situation just to see if they will back you. Luckily, some of us read both forums and know what dally is really worth.

My god, how much does he think Dalembert is worth (especially with that contract)?

You, because he's clearly not worth 2 of our firsts when we take his contract off your hands.

What? I'm a Cavs fan- we take on the contract?
