He'd be a nice addition, but there are a slew of other bigs I'd call ahead of him. He's better then nothing though.

I'll take has beens (P.J. Brown, Horry) over never will be's (Big Baby Davis, POB, Tony Allen) any day of the week. Their skills may be diminished, but they have high basketball IQ's and you can trust them to not screw up time and time again.

Yeah but atleast Brown was 6ft 11 and can play defense. Horry deosnt have a position because he cannot guard anyone on the floor plus all he does is campout at the three point line.

Who did we bring in to replace Posey's 3-pt shooting?

Posey can play defense, Horry can't. Bad comparison.

We still have Pierce, House and Allen that can shoot the 3 ball and we can always have Cassell play. We need a big man and a playmaker off the bench

I don't agree, probably the only aspect of the game in which our team is below average is 3pt shooting depth. Our rotation basically contains 3 3pt shooters (Ray, Pierce, House). Our 4th best in-the-rotation shooter is Garnett or Tony and they struggle to shoot 30% from 3. That is a lack of depth compared to the average NBA team, and it creates problems for the half-court game.

Replacing Davis with Horry would obviously help our shooting. Sure, Horry doesn't do much more than get in the right place on D anymore, but is Davis doing that much more in that area? In defense/rebounding I think Horry would be a bit worse than Brown was, and about the same as Davis. Obviously his range would be a major asset to our half-court offense though. I think Horry would be a major improvement. I'd rather have Mourning, but pickin's are getting slim for vet big men.

Since when can Horry not play D? Duncan said he was happy that the Spurs signed Horry because no one in the league did a better job defending him. Sure he's old but he's Robert F'N Horry. This would be amazing.

This is the best video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZdik09RGJI

Remember, Horry was "done" then, too. For some threes, some charges, and the potential for him to go absolutely insane in game 5 of the NBA Finals he'd be worth it. Maybe he'll even get the other team's two best players suspended for a critical road playoff game, who knows. This guy is a winner, I would love it.

You only need him for the last two minutes of a close game. He will make shots!

we need shooters...this is very evident when defenses sag off of rondo like they did in the most recent lakers game and in the playoffs last season

ray allen
eddie house
paul pierce

are the only outside shooters we have..period...fact
the closest person in 3pa attempted after these three is scal with 30, 90 less than Paul Pierce's 116

The problem with Horry is that he can't play defense anymore and more importantly, can't shoot anymore. He went 3 straight playoff games last season without scoring any points, which is probably why the Spurs didn't want him anymore. No thanks.

When Doc Rivers put PJ Brown last year ahead of Big Baby, I think it made a big difference. I trully question why the slow and under sized Big Baby is having a lot of playing time. Despite Davis is young, I thought Horry will help the Celts more.

Replace big baby, he sucks! He's one reason that made the Celts lose to Portland the other night.

Despite the complaints to Horry, I thought the argument should be Horry versus Big Baby. Who will contribute better?

BTW, I'm no fan of Horry but I just want to say that the Celt are not getting enought production to Big Baby Davis. He's more of a burden. I wish Doc Rivers will let Powe play more than Davis.

I don't think he is any better than Walker our true celtic. If he throws a towel on Doc's face, Perk or KG would have kicked his butt.
