Seriously.

The Celtics, IMO, are still the best team in the league until someone takes it away from them. Losing a few here and there is not going to change that. The Lakers might have broken the Celtics streak which took away some of their momentum, but let's not go crazy here... they are still the team to beat.

I'm a C's fan and I think the Lakers might be in the heads of the C's a little bit.

Either that or the C's may just have underestimated the Lakers new found toughness. I mean up until that game the C's have been playing pretty good ball but then they drop 3 of their next 4 including that Lakers game which was pretty putrid.

But I still find some solace that the game was on the road and it was a close game. I mean the C's didn't play well at all maybe a C game at best while the Lakers played their butts off and we still had a chance to win late in the game.

And just from the recent past Lakers team s with Shaq/Kobe they exemplified the notion that the "regular season is just a long preseason till the real season began" so as long as the C's win a title they can lose to the Lakers, Wizards, Thunder back to back to back in the regular season for all I care :)

You can say that winning the finals meant more to the Celtics than the Lakers since Ainge traded the Celtics future to win now. The Lakers will be a contender long after this mini Celtic run.

Do you believe this? The future is now and Boston has won 1 championship due to the trades and will likely win more. Some teams dont even have 1 championship. All Boston traded was a bunch of pieces that probably would never win anything.

When your team is rumored to pick up a Knicks reject to save your season then somebody on the Celtics is shook.....

lol, it isn't Marbury's lack of ability keeping him on the bench in New York.

I mean a few months ago when talks of him came out of being bought out and he (Marbury) stated that he was going to shock everybody and play in the W/C, Cs fan came out and started bashing him and calling him a lof names.
Then this morning this news (which is just a rumor) and your board has well over 3 threads about it.
You guys are photoshoping pictures of a retired jersey of one of your legends D.J N#3 not even realizing that N# is retired..... and the Cs board is going gooo gooo over a rumor like your singing Wade or Lebron.

oh, there's no way I would want Marbury on the Heat (I'm a fan) because I believe he needs strong personalities to keep him focused on the team. The C's are one of the few teams who could do that, player and coach-wise.

Im sort of addressing it cause HOW can you call yourself a fan when you dont even know your teams history or what N# belongs to who on your own team.
You got posters throwing Jersey N# out there like Marbury sign a contract already....
You got people calling out N# 3 like it belonged to just anybody.
To me thats a BANDWAGONER............ BUT THATS JUST ME BRAHH.
Your old school Kefa, DO YOU THINK THATS COOL?

Agreed with you. Marbury would be a disaster for many times but for the Celtics, I think he'd help them.

He was a great player back in the day, but Dennis Johnson IS just anybody, we had goddamn Bill Walton coming off the bench those years. You're acting like the guy was the reason we won.

  No but if you take crazy and add scared, since they lost to the Lakers and Portland and G.S and they got the Cavs breathing down their necks, put them together, you get crazy scared.
And thats the state of mind the Cs are in right now.
I mean you got Cs posting interest in Robert Horry............

I don't see a problem with getting Marbury, if it's a 1-year contract, which is what it will be..

1 year, minimum or something close to that..you keep him for the rest of the season, he tries to prove he can still contribute to an elite team so somebody will sign him next year..

Steph's a great guy for the community too..

Some great quotes in this one

"I'm trying to determine if Stephon Marbury is high or on crack or what he is doing."

"First Paula Abdul and now a basketball celebrity.....coming out on tv visibly and obviously high and kinda making a fool of himself."

"At this point I think he might, he might just be stupid. Likely he's high cuz I don't know what the hell he's talking about."

"He's trying to portray Stephon Marbury I'm doing it for the community thing. I know but he's completely botching it! Then he went back to a conversation that no one else was in the middle of."

"I mean he lost it, I mean he doesn't know what he's saying anymore. We're all for the trophy, no I don't want the trophy we call it shiny stuff!"

"What sense does it make to say, "We all shoot for the trophy, no I don't care about the trophy."

"You understood that, you understand high? I think so, I have to grasp that because it wasn't clear."

"Earlier he says he's gonna get 12 dimes and 2 assists a game."

"That phone call was someone saying Uh you look horrible, stop the interview, stop the interview."

"My favorite part is the host, at some point the reporter part has to kick in, Hey Stephon I gotta ask you, you're high right?"

Farm Raid wrote:I actually said way, way before the game, on a thread here, that the game wasn't really that big and it was going to be overhyped by whichever team who won's fans.

But when someone says the games a bigger for the Lakers than it was the Celtics...that's true. Only Laker fans would disagree.

Okayyyyy, you know what your RIGHT????

Oh, I know. Thanks though, Tony. You're still talking about it like a week later- and if the Celtics won some fan that is the equivalent of you would still be posting about it, too.

This game ment nothing.

I didn't say that. Strawman much?

Specailly since it was the highest rating in 4 years.

That doesn't really have anything to do with anything.

The Cs board on Christmas day by the time the game ended well over 290 Replies 5000 + Views, they even started threads on why the Lakers beat us with 112 Replies 3465, and thats not counting all the other threads they opened up complaining and coming up with their version of NBA Conspiracy about Stern fixing the Christmas games so that the Finals will be between the Lakers and the Cavs..............
Sure brahh, they didnt care about that game............

One- and again- I never said the game didn't mean anything, I said it was more important to the Lakers, something only Laker fans seem to be denying.

Two, those are Celtic fans who post on RealGM, it's not like it was KG and PP posting.

I would rather have somebody man up and say ...... Props that was a good game or the better team won, than sitting on a board and complaining about everything and at the end saying OH THAT GAME MENT NOTHING..............

Who said the game meant nothing? It's like you read as well as you spell.

Obviosuly it did, if all your doing is crying, compalining and coming up with every excuse you can come up with and at the same time denying you care about it.
Bunch of Hypocrites............ I swear.

Why would I be crying? I'm not a Celtics fan! I know that shocks some of you, that someone can think, for example, that the 08 Celtics are debatable with the 01 Lakers, or that this game meant more to the Lakers than it did the Celtics, without being a Celtic fan, but I'm sorry. Just because someone isn't a **** cheerleader for the Lakers like you and some of your homies doesn't mean that they're a Celtic fan. Jesus Christ, your mind is a seriously simple place, isn't it? You think like you're in grade school or something. "This guy isn't a Laker cheerleader, he MUST be a Celtic fan!" I don't care about the Celtics.
