All T-Mac Trade Ideas Go Here!

Post#1 » by jzmagik » Sat Jan 3, 2009 2:17 am

What do you guys think of this trade? Many laker fans think Odom will be gone by the season's end. Odom can run point forward, is long, and can rebound. It also seems like the best we can do with how much Tmac has devalued.

Why would the Lakers do this? Odom at least gives you 8 points, good rebounding, and comparable passing.

Maybe they want to take a risk and trade for Tmac and hope for him to get healthy by the playoffs LOL

Sit Tmac until March. Maybe then he'll return back to form and perform at a 70% level.

I don't understand McGrady's situation right now, but it is evident that he needs to sit.
And I don't think any team will take a chance to trade for T-Mac. He's dug himself a bigger hole.

T-Mac doesn't care he gets paid his cool 20 million regardless of how well he performs. At least next year will be a contract year so we Rocket fans can see him play with some sort of PASSION for once.

I dunno....Lakers would McGrady as a legit stopper and someone else that create a shot for himself and his teammates. Right now....no. If McGrady picks it up by the all star break we might be able to package something to get Odom's expiring.

Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to New York and Houston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New York and Houston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Trade ID #4902101

New York Trade Breakdown

Houston Trade Breakdown

Wait a sec....

So you guys want another PG to sit on the bench behind Alston? That just makes no sense.

Realistically, the Knicks have absolutely no reason to pull this trade. Marbury's contract expires next season, whereas McGrady's in 2010. What's the point of trading for a player who can't and won't compete? McGrady's just a name and at this rate he's not gonna do anything other than decorating your bench.

We'll trade JO to ya for him. You guys get an injury prone past his prime PF with a huge contract that expires in 2010 (who is actually playing with more heart than T-Mac is at this point).

Raps get a SF with the same credentials.

Even trade. You guys get more cap relief in the end though.....

Their contracts are pretty much dead even, but Brian Colangelo isn't stupid to make this trade.
