Bobby Brown

Post#1 » by bflewis » Sat Jan 3, 2009 3:31 am

John Salmons has championed teammate Bobby Brown's raw talent since training camp and said he has the potential to be among the NBA's best defensive point guards."I think the biggest thing for him is he has to learn to cause havoc all game," Salmons said. "He's got to get up in his man like a Chris Paul (of New Orleans). He's causing havoc all game, all over the court. … Once (Brown) gets that mentality, I think he'll be a special player. He's got all the ability in the world."

To be Honest, Bobby Brown is one of my favorite players on the team but did you see how Rodney Stuckey, of all people, tore apart Brown on defense? What do you think of Brown? Does he have as much potential as Salmons says he does and if so, what kind of role do you see him having in the future?

Stuckey was just too powerful for Brown. Not really bad D on Brown's part, but our best defender (Salmons) was on Prince and Bobby was on Iverson...so it was a bad coaching adjustment not to put Garcia on Stuckey.

I was just happy to see Brown in there over Beno Brown > Beno. I would be starting Brown if I were the coach. Stuckey has about 3 inches and 30 lbs on Brown so I blame the coach more than Brown. Brown would of been better off guarding AI with Garcia or Martin on Stuckey. Regardless Stuckey was on fire and it probably wouldn't of made a huge difference who was on him. Brown did not have a great game but he didn't really hurt us either, I don't think he had any TO, unlike Beno.

I'd love to see us pick up his option at the end of the year! I think he has a future on this team, maybe as the ultimate backup but right ow he should be starting!

Bobby Brown reminds me of one of those players that all the fans like for about a year and are either cut or traded soon after.

Gerald Wallace
Dahntay Jones
Jim Jackson
Keon Clark
etc.

Brown has a player option so he chooses to stay or not.

I think Bobby should also be starting. I am just not comfortable with Beno in clutch situations and in the NBA it is the clutch moments that determine winners and losers (Just ask Bibby!). With a team full of guys who can't finish late on their own we need someone who can control the game late. It is really that simple. We need to find out if Brown can fill the PG hole or we need to draft one or a PF. We need a 20/5 type college guy which Brown also was in college. We need to see if he can turn things around since we already know Beno is not our guy.

Bobby Brown is out of place and is total CRAP in Minnesotta, but as a King, he was VERY nice, I would have him over Beno any day, would love to get him back

Bobby Brown was pretty solid for us during his stint here. But he needs to stop trying to dunk everything though. He gets rejected. Badly.

And by the way, what's up with this random thread? Going back in time FTW. haha
