Blinebury Blasts McGrady [Chron]

Mark it down.

It was Jan. 2, 2009, 1:16 left in the third quarter, when there was a seismic shift in the Rockets' world, when the tectonic plates opened up and swallowed an era.

The official play-by-play sheet simply says: Jamario Moon slam dunk.

Anybody who was watching at the Air Canada Centre or on TV knows it was the precise moment that Tracy McGrady quit on the Rockets.

Yao Ming knows it. You could read it all over his scowling face as he sat on the bench through the final embarrassing minutes of horrid game.

Rick Adelman knows it. You could read it between the lines of his post-game comments when he said he would not talk about any individual performances.

Ron Artest knows it. You could tell that a week ago when Artest dragged his sore and ballooning right ankle onto the court to gut out an overtime win against the Jazz when McGrady made himself a late scratch during the post parade.

----So is this how its really going to end for McGrady? go figure.

I was at the game tonight and seeing what unfolded in person just made it even more dissapointing. A lot of people played bad tonight, don't get me wrong. As a team we were just horrible. But T-Mac's performance, his body language, just stood out to me in particular. What's sad is this roster is truly the best chance to really do something he has ever had and to see him come out like this.......its just sad. Please T-Mac if your hurt just sit, but when your on that floor all I ask is you give it all you got....

T-mac Is a Edit: I know you're angry and disappointed, but don't type in ways to avoid the language filter. -Vator- This was the most pathetic excuse of effort I have ever seen in my life. He should personally pay all those fans back who came to that game. He should renegociate his contract. hes worth the vet minimum right now. 21 Million? this is the worst contract in the history of sports. i hate how this little f*cker was so talented he half assed his whole career, but because he was so gifted, he could get away with it. he doesnt deserve sh*t. ive been a t-mac fan since his toronto days, and i can tell you this. when t-mac is pumped to be playing in a certain game, he is so amazing to watch. games 1 and games 2 against dallas, amazing. you couldnt help but love the guy. when he was in orlando, i remember grant hill cameback for awhile, and kobe and shaq came to town, and t-mac absolutely TORCHED kobe that night, and he ended with like 38 pts, and sat out the 4th q. beacuse the magic had the game sealed. when t-mac is pumped, his attitude and game are unbelievable. the sad thing is, those special games that he has, i can probably only remember 20 or so times they happened. most of the time he runs around half asleep, cock eyed with his lazy eye spinning around all stupid looking. he quit on the magic. he just quit on the rockets. hes a quitter, Edit, he has no heart or desire to be great. all that talent is a waste, he is the biggest loser in professional sports history. He himself is the chicago cubs of basketball. there will be a time when its time for him to retire, and hes gonna be the saddest person in the world. he knows what he did, he knows he didnt give 100 effort every second on that court. he will live the rest of his lazy life knowing that he never became what he could have

McGrady is way more of a selfish b*tch than marbury. Marbury can play his heart out, and the Knicks are still going to suck. Plus Marbury isnt really wasting God given talent, because i doubt hes really that good now anyway. AND, when he was in his prime, he was a me first player anyway, and he really was about the same as steve francis. nothing special. if marbury played his best right now i doubt you come close to putthing him in the same class as d-will, paul, or nash. t-mac on the other hand has all the God given talent in the world. Plus he isn't on the Knicks. he possibly has the deepest team in the league right now. Why do you give no effort if your t-mac and on the rockets right now. you have a chance to be at the top of the world. If t-mac plays hard, he IS in the same class as wade, kobe, and lebron. he just chooses not too because hes lazy. marbury is done anyway, hes on a sucky team, and his ceiling isnt that high anyway. t-mac has lot left, hes on a great team, and his ceiling is top 5 status in the league if he had a heart. thats why the tmac situation is more disurbing than marburys
