NCAA eligibility comitee = Joke (NFL signee eligible !?!)

I´m sorry for another rant here, but this is ridiculous. German players are denied because they played among professional (2 players) on the team, years back while not receiving pay. Heck, Staiger even attended an american high school after that and before going to college ...
Now Marcus Monk gets drafted by the NFL, signs a contract there twice (chicago and New York) , than after getting cut both times goes back to school and is deemed eligible to play Basketball for Arkansas. Yeah, he didn´t actually play in a game, but still ...

And i don´t say he shouldn´t be eligible, but the german kids should have been as well (and now Gonzaga signed Elias Harris out of Germany, let´s see what happens there) ...

The NCAA in general is a major ripoff for good athletes, but Monk was playing in an entirely different sport.

i know it's a little off topic, but i just read "the Last Shot" by Darcy Frey. if you really wanna see what a joke the NCAA this, give this a book a try. it's really an amazing, informative and heartbreaking look at the lives of 3 Coney Island High School basketball stars (including Stephon Marbury) who are trying to better their lives through basketball.

seems like there must be some way to stop this corrupt, broken system....
