out of it as well.


A bit of Timberwolves PG history since 1994. I made the list to highlight the absurdity of the point guard woes this team has undergone since that time. 1994 was the year Kevin McHale entered the Wolves front office. God bless him. For the most part it is broken down by year, player & games played.

Except for two seasons the Wolves have had at least one significant PG injury or bad PG contract on the books every year since 1994. If that wasn't enough the team has managed to have had a combined 12 players fall into one of these categories just over the past four seasons.

Nice breakdown. I never really added it up like that.

Remember when everyone complained because MIN "only" got to the play-offs every year, but then couldn't get past the first round? I had noticed that KG's #2 guy was almost always injured by the time the play-offs rolled around. In fact, the time we got past the first round, we did it with Troy Hudson as our PG. Its a tribute to KG, and the complimentary pieces, that we did so well with our #2 guy (generally a PG) out of action.

Looking at your numbers, it shows that not only were the PG's impossibly injured, but injured at the wrong time as well.

Yep, our everyone always complains that we have never had a true/good Center, we have never really had much at PG either though.

Banks? Seriously? He was hardly getting paid anything, he was in the last year of his rookie contract paying him $1.7Mil. And he went from being a throw-in to playing (relatively) great and earning the starting job. Or do you know that I loved Marcus and you're just trying to get me mad? What next, a SG history thread where you call Trenton Hassell overpaid and overrated?

Hudson didn't play at all in the playoffs that year.

Yep, our everyone always complains that we have never had a true/good Center, we have never really had much at PG either though.

I wouldn't say that we didn't have much. Marbury, Brandon, and Cassell are some of the best players we've ever had. Probably the 3 most talented players other than Garnett. But a combination of bitchiness, injuries, and old age hurt us.

My chart was focused on injuries and bad contracts but overall I tried to cover all of the PG calamities we have endured since 1994, including Marcus, who essentially cost the team a #1 pick.
No ill will meant and had no idea which old players anyone (including yourself) likes/hates.

Yeah, I guess he did alright for us, I just wish he would have cost less to try out. A pick for Jaric, a pick for Banks, at the time it was starting to feel like the Hershel Walker deal in super slow-mo.
