I gotta think Moss will get the job or leave the team unless the Rams hire him. Either way, i'm happy to see that he's gone, now TT jut needs to add some more talent to the defense.

We need to go outside for the hire, no interest in Moss.

I want new blood. Seeing what Ryan and Johnson can do creatively makes me wonder what Green Bay could accomplish if they had a DC that thought outside the box.

Moss does go against the grain. I wouldnt be too upset if he was promoted. I also think a more aggressive defense is needed.

I just want a smarter defense. Half the battle is knowing when to blitz and when to send 4, and then knowing how to disguise it. Sanders didn't care to think about any of those things.

Is that even an accurate source? I can't find anything more on the firing elsewhere.

My guess is that it is going to be Moss, would prefer a change to the 3-4 and Nolan, but Moss seems to fit. MM talked to Moss last week before his interview with St. Louis, which means he spoke to him before any other coach. The hot assistant coaching prospects around the league from the defensive side of the ball come from aggressive, attacking style of play (Spagnula, Ryan) and my guess is that Moss sold McCarthy that would be his style of play. Last week Moss was also quoted as saying that no LB has a set job for next year, the competition is wide open, that sounds more like a coordinator talking than a position coach, I hope he sticks with that philosophy.

The National Football Post is Michael Lombardi and Andrew Brandt among others, they are extremely credible and have printed a lot of great stuff this year, worth bookmarking.

Nice. I didn't realize that was their work. I've read a lot it. Didn't put 2 and 2 together.

Best reply ever in the jsonline blog.

Col. Sanders stuck with original recipe on defense all too often. Need to mix it up ... add something a little spicy once in awhile.

Moss concerns me. I'm tired of this constant flow of mediocre to bad DCs. I can live with it if he's the guy but what has he proven? Why chance it? When Nolan and other more proven are available why go green?

IF D sucks again - its M3's job IMO.

Actually if we decide to stay 4-3 I think he would be my first choice. Lack of talent does not make you a bad coach.

Thank god. Great day with this and the Vikes losing.

I really wouldn't mind Moss being promoted, but I agree with others. I'd absolutely love to see Nolan here as the DC.
